Greetings, all. First time poster, third time account (my two previous accounts under this screen name got deleted... the second one from just a couple of days ago after uploading some covers).

I noticed that I've done a fair number of cover scans and clean ups that aren't on the site, or are in better shape than what's on the site for that version. But, since I don't know what'll happen to this account, or what happened with the uploads I did with my now gone previous account from a couple of days ago, I thought I'd post these here.

Rather than go through everything again to see what needs replacing (like Beyond Oasis) or what's a new cover for the site, I'll just post all of the ones I've done for your consideration to use. They're all DropBox links, so for those interested, be sure to use the "Download" button for grabbing the full versions, and to not grab the smaller compressed previews that pop up...

Great job.  I've been looking for quality versions of many of these covers.

Thanks for the covers! I've downloaded them and will go through them and upload/replace those which are needed when I have some time.

Cool. Hopefully there'll be at least a few that meet the site's quality standards.

Hello, I'm new, I just created a cover for the game Puggsy. The text and image is from the original cover. It is designed for the Universal Game Case:

I can't bother to do the complete nit-picking evaluation as I can see that the front is too low quality for the cover to pass, but rest of the pieces looks excelent.

If you can find high quality front I can do more thorough check.
But what i can tell is that if any flaws are found they would be something small and easy to fix.

So that means that a cover like the one of Hook on page 104 isn't good enough either when you close up?

Correct.

Front is faded and back text is bit blurry.

Your cover is good exept the front image.
By nit-picking I meant I must check the at all legal info and markings are correect and no typos are present.

Hmmmm.... I actually would say Puggsy is nearly okay. The front isn't low res it just seems like the scanner wasn't too good. If teh front would be a bit better the cover would be really nice.

I agree on Hook though, definitely mega faded front sadly.

Found doesn'T sound good. It needs to be at least 300dpi, descreened, colorful and as sharp as possible.

Sometimes "found" is better than nothing.  I "found" a few scans on the internet that were miraculously turned into decent covers.  But I agree, it's best when we can find the real thing. ;D
Maybe, just once, someone will call me "sir" without adding, "you're making a scene."

First of all I understand that you guys are very critique, though I want to say I do this in my free time and to be honest, I find the presentation/form of the sharp critique sometimes not that motivating. Perhaps it's just me, perhaps not, I wanted to give you guys this feedback.

Anyway, I am making the cover originally for a friend who get the Puggsy game for his birthday, so posting it to you guys is for me an extra and a tribute to the developers of Puggsy! Below a sample for the previous puggsy cover quality, the second is the new scan i found, the third is cleaned up. Is this resolution good enough for thecoverproject.net standards?

Perhaps making a page on the homepage with clear examples of quality issues you accept and what not. Makes it much more easier.

Cheers

Yeah we can be bit sharp, but we have found out that staright honest unsugarcoated critisism works best in guiding people towards the quality level we want.
Take as promising sign when we critique.

Most time if cover goes uncritizised iit means we thin it's beyond hope, and not worth our attention.

I do this in my free time.

As do we, nobody gets payed or is employed on this site. ;)

Not bad idea:

True they could need some updating.

If the lowest image is 300DPI AND correct size, it would probably be accepted with some additional tweaking, same goes for the middle one.
