Decided to take a trip to the local swap meet here in South Carolina this morning hoping to find treasure of some sort, and sure enough, I came across a few really awesome things. Aside from scoring a copy of Adventure Island for the NES for $3, I came across this one guy just as he was packing up who had a pile of Original Gameboy accessories, which he let me have for $2.

Namely this:

Really excited about this one. The cool thing is, it looks like it was never really used. Package has a few creases here and there but as far as everything else goes, it's in perfect shape. Even the little cleaning pads are still in the cellophane wrap.

Then there was this, which I know is an original gameboy adapter, lol, a little bulky and inconvenient by today's standards I guess.

I'm assuming I need this cable to actually charge the thing, which I'm sure I can net on Ebay or something.

Then there's this...and this is the one that's got me really confused:

It looks to me like a generic (probably 3rd party) version of the Light Boy accessory, but I can't find this particular model anywhere online. There's a little switch on the top right corner which I assume controls the two small light bulbs along the inside, but even after inserting 2 AA batteries, it doesn't light up. What's really got me confused though is this:

Obviously this is meant to plug into something, but there's no where on the Gameboy itself that it can even plug into, so I'm not sure if I'm missing a piece or what.

Anyways, yeah...if anyone happens to have this kind of magnifier, any help would definitely be appreciated. This things got me stumped lol.

There were approximately 9 million different light/magnification accessories for the original Game Boy.  :)

I think, altough I'm not 100% sure, that all you need is that generic power cable, which other end looks bit like figure eight. you know the one that comes with PS, PS2, PS3 Slim, radios...

Ah-ha! Yep, I think you're right. I'll definitely check that later on today, but I'm almost 100% sure you're right on that one.

Will do. I looked around yesterday to see if anyone else had already made a UGC cover for the kit, but couldn't find one, so I was planning on scanning it sooner or later anyways. I'll probably do that later this evening when I get home.

By the way, opened up the generic light boy yesterday and found the problem: one of the negative wires going from the batteries to the bulbs themselves somehow got cut/pinched/whatever in half so yeah, heh, might be a lost cause.
