I should have some spare cash this Friday and I'm kinda leaning towards getting a scanner.  This one is the cheapest one I can find but is also name brand with decent user ratings and I THINK it has a good DPI scan ability. (I think it said something about 2400dpi)

I'd buy one from a local store this Friday to have it for the weekend, but places don't seem to be interested in stocking flatbed scanners anymore.

I personally own an older Canon LIDE flatbed scanner and it has always done a good job!

I have an old Canon flatbed and it's great. I have a new canon all-in-one and the scanner is a POS. (as expected)

I actually own that exact same scanner. Recently (as in the past month) purchased one off of Amazon.com. Personally, I think it works really well. I haven't had any problems, and everything has come out looking great, with a little bit of tweaking.

A4 scanners suck for scanning old magazines though.
