Slither (PAL/UK)

So i find i prefer this template nowadays to the other type and intend to switch over all the covers that are not allready made to it. If there would be any interest in a more 'US' version (the one badged as NTSC made by Lish is more Australian than US), a combination of the U.K and Lish versions should be easy enough to do.

Basic Programming (NTSC/US)

Not a game but still in need of a cover. A whole 128 bytes of RAM to use, no more than 9 lines of code allowed (11 with a trick i think) and a Basic quite unlike any i have ever seen. Came with a set of keyboard overlays fitted to the linked together pads to form a VERY rudimentry keyboard. Everyone (oldies  ;)) knows the :

10. Print "Grumbleduke rools ok"
20. GOTO 10

that we all used to type in on shop display or unattended computers at school but i never tried it with this. I wonder....

Polaris (NTSC/US)

I have needed to cover this for years now and have given up on ever finding a scan good enough to use, so this is made in a similar layout to the original but with different front art. Simple and basic as was the style at that time... ;)

Looping (PAL/UK)

Done in a U.K style from Lish's version as i cant' find anything to give me the data from the original release, let alone a useable scan.

Smurf (PAL/U.K)

A 'pad smasher' of a platformer, your hands will be aching within minutes as you wrestle with the coleco pad and the games pixel perfect jumps. I still enjoy the odd game of it, though im not sure why...

What font did you use for the back of the Atari 2600 covers?

Or, even better, is there a template of that style?

The template (such as it was) was lost ages ago when i had a drive go down. Most stuff was rescued but the 2600 stuff did'nt make it. All i had done was adapted what lish had made. I used Arial for both header and info text (Bold Italic for header, regular for info). If you have'nt allready done so, you could try grabbing something like Desert Falcon to get the text layout, size and spacing right. Then it should be easy enough to make it into a workable template, if you have other 2600 stuff to do. The only uncovered one i have left now is Gorf (2600 version stinks btw) but thats a CBS release in a completely different case.

Thanks for that Grumbleduke.

Here's the finished cover. I got the text as close as I could get to the other covers, but I don't think it's quite perfect.

I put this up today with a few small changes (hope you dont mind ;)). Improved the quality of the screenshots and front scan so you might notice differences there.

No, that's fine. I had wanted to use better pictures, but I couldn't find any.

I was only 12-14 when i had Coleco, but i recall the boxes being black. Most of the boxes in the archives are grey. Was that the color in Europe, or Canada, or am i just completely not remembering well?

The ones marked as U.K are more or less identicle to the original boxes. The others are based on Australian boxes AFAIK. U.S cases are different again, the backs being similar to the AU ones and the fronts varying.
