Gotta say, I got the hori GC pad in, and it's freaking amazing! SO comfortable to hold, and GBA games just feel right. Not sure it was worth 40 bones, but damn good all the same.

I'm still keeping my official N64 pad, so it's not like I'm going to be screwed on those games.

Update: Hori pad transaction fell through  :( . Still looking for N64 pad then...

I have a feeling once you get one you'll feel underwhelmed. It's an okay controller, but isn't so fantastic it's worth all the worry you're putting into it. Just relax man. I'm sure you'll get one eventually.

Not so much worried as I am a little let down. I could easily spend $70 and get one now, in the color I want and everything, but that's alot of cash for a "pretty good" controller. I was thinking $50, tops.

Also interested in the ASCII pad now. Looks and feels just like the official pad, but it has turbo. I think about $40 or so would be my max on this one.

I can't think of a single N64 game that would benefit from turbo fire.

I'm sure Mario Party would be a good use. I don't really like turbo controller though, it takes the fun out of a lot of games.

I like having the option, but mainly it's for collecting purposes. And because the blue/green color looks really good. I had found one that I could nab for $42, but it was a kinda ugly color. I know, I'm picky. Turbo was a great help in the 8-bit days with mindless button mashers (Urban Champion, anyone?) but has since lost usefulness.

Holy crap I love eBay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160420466759#ht_500wt_948

just nabbed another controller for the GC (backup I suppose or I might sell for more money), and with my eBay bucks it totalled to £13.52 and that includes shipping! Noice!

I agree. I think the only game I use turbo for is the ship stage on Battletoads/Double Dragon for the SNES. Helps alot! That pad would come in handy for Mario Party's button mashing games. Altho I must say I usually kill anyone who tries to out button mash me lol.

Turbofire is only really  useful in arcade style shooters or run and gun platformers. Since the N64 lacked both genres I still stick by what I said. Mario party might use it too, but in a party game like that, how is turbo fire any fun?
