Testing out the new vertical template with my favorite game

Cybernator (NTSC)

I have to spice it up some here and there, but I'm really loving the template!!

for consistancy you should put the yellow dots at the bottom of the front and put the ESRB rating back on the front too.

The covers are looking really nice, i'm glad to see that you like the template.  I look forward to seeing more covers come through too

Looks great, except for the fact that you misspelled "Sigma" as "Sigman" on the back. Same thing goes for the Donkey Kong Country 2 cover, "Kong" is misspelled as "King" on the back (In the yellow features text near the bottom).

thanks for pointing that out, darn typos are bound to happen.  I'll fix that up for Megaman X before i post it (unfortunately i already added DKC2 before fixing the typo)

It's no problem really. I've seen just as bad typos on official covers before. We all remember the classic "enivironments" typo in Zelda 64. Glad I could help though.

The captions look a little silly without the screenshots to go with them, but nice work nonetheless.

Akumu: Do you have raw scans of the Muscle Bomber box? I would love to make a cover for it myself using my own template.

i know but i didn't want to change the template for the extra pictures.  I really didn't want to throw off the uniform look.  I originally didn't have the captions with the main text larger, but the huge text looked rediculous.

Great job on the MK box, can't wait to see the others! Are you going to do covers for the Street Fighter II (SFII, SFII Turbo, and Super SFII) games too? I know there's already vertical covers for them but they don't use your template, and I happen to quite like your template.

with time i plan to convert all of the SNES covers we have on the site to my vertical template.

@AppleQueso
Yep, as stated above. I'm not sure what order i'll be converting the cases.
i generally will tend to do covers for games that i own and ones people request first.

@sheep2001
Yeah as already stated i already made a KI cover.  Shaq Fu! ... shame on you for owning that game.  ::) Yeah i'll convert that one for you

Is it possible to convert the existing covers or will you require a reupload of the raws?

Either work just fine, its all the same.
The covers i have made so far are from exsisting covers on the site converted.

  • ...and that's the bottom line
Can you create a cover off of screencaps from an emulated game? I have Dead Dance (aka Tuff E Nuff in the US/EU) for SNES. Problem is, since it wasn't a very popular or well known game, there's next to no artwork for it on the net. Let alone high res.
If I made some screenshots of the title menu, in-game fights and so on, would any of these be useful at all in creating a cover?

I didn't bother making a request for that game as I highly doubt I'll run into someone with the retail box of the Japanese version :D
