the white stroke around the black banners is the same way sony has the ps2 stroke (all on the left side, bottom, and partway on the right)

it only does that because i have the covers previewed in a triple dvd case (which is slightly wider than a UGC).
The white border doesn't show up on the spine in a UGC.  :)

Really digging your work on the Donkey Kong covers.
I was wondering, could you post the full resolution, uncropped versions of the artwork used (in particular for the first game)? I have a loose copy of Super Donkey Kong and I was thinking I might want to make a custom cover for it myself.

i don't have any artwork for super donkey kong, its a completely custom cover.
I recreated the logo and used an official nintendo wallpaper for the background.
sorry i can't really help you out there  :-\

Oh, I didn't mean scans of the actual cover, just whatever art you used (I wouldn't want to copy something straight off your cover when I could use whatever source you had). A pointer towards where I can get those wallpapers would be of great help.

i got the art from a "GBA donky kong country" wallpaper.
i don't remember where, but it shouldn't be too hard to find.
(if you have troubles i'll just upload my wallpaper and give you a link)

also, you are more than welcome to use the super donkey kong logo from my cover if you would like.
(onc again if you want me to make it a seperate image and upload it i can)

Your vertical template really brings some excellent results there, Shenske!

Well, I've recently done a custom vertical cover for Street Fighter Alpha 2. Which means I've done covers for all the Street Fighter games that were released on the Super NES.

I'm getting ready to upload the Vertical SNES Template (+ other templates too)
Here is a preview of the readme file that will be included.

To the future Vertical SNES Artist,

To mantian consistancy there are a few guidelines/rules for the Vertical Snes covers.
It is a pretty simple list but I think it is necessary.
Don't feel intimidated by the list, its pretty easy once you read through it.

All layers are named and placed in folders to be organized and help you out in locating each layer. :)

If you feel that the "ReadME" can be changed to be more beneficial to the reader let me know.
Send a PM to Shenske @ thecoverproject.net

1.  Don't change major parts of the template.  Only change what is listed in the following.

2.  Inside of the template is a few major company logos in a seperate folder. These are the developers logos.
Use those logos (or a different developer logo) on the front, spine and back in the same place the default logos go.
Make sure that you don't cover up the developer logo with art from the game.
Developer logo goes on top of art if the cover art hangs out of the canvas area

3.  All text is editable except for the japanese text.
So please make sure to change the dates, legal information, barcode and product #.

4.  DON"T FORGET TO CHANGE LOGOS FOR DIFFERENT REGIONS.
Please don't forget to change logos for each region.
Each region is labeled so it should be pretty easy to change the front, back and spine logos.
Make sure to hide the ESRB logos when making a PAL (European) or NTSC-J (Japanese) cover.
The PAL and NTSC Nintendo Seal logos are different so please change accordingly.

5.  If the game is not "only for" SNES then simply hide the group and a default gray gradient will show up in its place.
Japanese games did not use the "only for" logos so just hide when making Japanese covers.

6.  I strongly recommend using a drop shadow behind all "game information" text so it is readable.

7.  Please, look around at all the layers in the template.
The template has many hidden layers that could be very helpful in making your covers.

I really hopes this helps you guys, good luck on mkaing the SNES covers.
Thank you for choosing to make a Vertical SNES cover with my template.
I'm looking formward to seeing some more of these covers come in through the coverproject.net.

I thought Mega Man X was a console exclusive. Shouldn't it have the "Only For" label on it?

Looks great, except for the fact that you misspelled "Sigma" as "Sigman" on the back. Same thing goes for the Donkey Kong Country 2 cover, "Kong" is misspelled as "King" on the back (In the yellow features text near the bottom).
