  • ...and that's the bottom line

(wip - need to change nintendo seal to pal version and find out what rating system PAL SNES games used)

Just checked my PAL retail boxes for you. Some don't have any ratings at all, and some use the ELSPA system.

Yup, the ELSPA didn't rate any games until 1994 (and was replaced with PEGI in 2003). So only the later PAL SNES games had a rating. The vast majority of games just had a little disclaimer on the back, pretty inconspicuous, just saying "Recommended for ages 8 to adult" for most games.

The only games I have with a ELSPA rating are Mortal Kombat II and Blackhawk (aka Blackthorne in the US)

The ELSPA rating looked like this

I'd say you can easily drop the rating from the PAL boxes altogether.

i'm really glad you like it, i made the template because of your request.
The template turned out a little better than i anticipated so i'm making time for SNES covers now.

my goal is to make at least one or two a day for the rest of the summer, hopefully i can exceed my goal.  :)

If you're looking for PAL covers... My PAL raw scans are sitting in the snes folder for as long as this site exists and nobody gives a damn ;)

What I really like about this vertical SNES Template is that you didn't make it look to fancy.

Also, since some SNES games were also released on the Genesis, you could probably just edit them with this SNES template. That way you won't have to track down a 15 year old box for art that you already have.

Yup -  i'll be after the Pal versions.  If you wanted to try it out with killer instinct or mortal kombat that would be awesome  ;)

i fixed the back product code for the PAL SMW cover. The changes were so minimal i don't think its really needed for me to make another preview pic.
Now i added a cover for the Japanese version.

Super Mario World NTSC-J

 :)

Can you maybe post the template and a tutorial for converting horiztonal to vertical cases? I am still so impressed by this template. To make all my SNES and Super Famicom cases uniform.......oh man is this cool.

I still have some kinks to work out with the Template and i'll try to make it as user friendly as possibly.
If you have ever used any of my other templates they are all organized the same way.

as far as the tutorial goes, i've never made one before.  i'll look into it

The template is really not all that hard to figure out, you just have to make sure to switch regions. (takes like 1 min)
Maybe i'll just split the template into 3 separate groups (for NTSC-U, NTSC-J, PAL), the problem with that is the template size gets huge from all the duplicate layers.

Oh, wow, Shenske! Those are incredible! They put all my vertical covers to shame! You've done a great job of fitting the official art (regardless of region) onto that template.
