Drop and shrink the white back text a bit so you can fit the big text above it so you can fit the title above it.

Increase the size and/or lighten the subtitle a bit on the front (might be hard read).

Add the subtitle to the spine (and back).

Horizontal is the only real style I support. Has been it from the start before everything got fancy....

anyway, I picked up Ultima VII: The Black Gate on SNES...here is a cover I threw together.
