So I didn't know where to put this because it's not a specific fix but just a thought. A LOT of the covers here (as amazing as they are) contain major spelling errors. I don't expect anyone to go back and fix those that already exist but for future covers if people could run spell check before flattening their images I would be much happier. Sorry if that sounds OCD but I figured I would say something about it because it's an easy fix.

Actually, that's what this thread is for. We fully intend on going back and fixing whatever spelling errors you come across. So please, point them out so they can be fixed.

As for future images, sometimes misspellings just fall under the radar. That's why tend to post them on the threads first, so others can take a look and see if everything is up to standards.

Well in that case I'll start looking through them :D

1. Vertical Mario 64 -- the word "combing" should be combining.
2. Vertical Yoshi Story-- (on site but not yet in the database) "al" should be all.
3. Vertical A bug's life -- (on site but not yet in the database) "outmaneuver" should have a space in it.
4. Vertical TMNT Tournament Fighters-- "should" should be shoulder
5. Vertical Battletoads in Battlemaniacs- "the the" should be changed to just the....there was also something else wrong but I don't remember what it was off the top of my head.

Anyway I'll list more later when I have the covers in front of me. I'm not home right now and this was just the stuff I could remember looking at the other day. Hope this helps! Once again great job guys! I don't want anyone to feel hurt by me pointing this stuff out, I just think you guys work so hard to make amazing covers that little things like spelling shouldn't get in the way of perfection. Keep up the good work and remember click that F7 button, it's your friend :D

I just want to add a note for the critics abound the forum:
keep in mind that many published covers and manuals contain spelling errors. I have found two errors in the Brett Hull Hockey '95 manual (penalties and simultaneously.) Some collectors may want the errors to preserve the manuals or covers as they are within their collection. Therefore, some errors may be deliberate. Perhaps one could check the cover/manual first, then post to the thread.

Outmanoeuvre is a word - and none of the others would come up in a spell check.  They need to be proof read before posting to the site.

Fair enough, I did not know outmaneuver was one word. It appears it's time to update my dictionary because it's not in there but I checked now online and you are right! And grammar check would have picked up "the the" (green underline in word not red) but yeah the point is still the same: proofread or spell check don't just copy and paste from gamefaqs because they tend to have errors there.

I don't believe it does. That's why I always run my text through MS Word first and then copy/paste it into photoshop where I then format it.

It should be noted that proofreading your own work is a bad idea.  Missing your own mistakes is VERY likely since you made them in the 1st place. You may very well think that what you wrote is correct, or just not notice the mistakes.  You're already aware of what you wrote, so you tend to read through it very quickly and without the scrutiny that a third party would.

If possible, get a girlfriend, wife, brother/sister, or someone to look it over.  Using Word is a great idea as others have suggested.  It will catch grammar mistakes that InDesign and Illustrator aren't capable of.
