I recently uploaded a few covers for the first time and I was curious how long it generally took to get approved onto the site. I hope I don't sound impatient, just curious what to expect.

I'm excited to have my name up as a contributor rather than always a requester haha.

Thanks!

Not trying to be rude or pushy, but does anyone have an idea?

The lack of response kind of mirrors my attempt at uploading. No feedback whatsoever. :/

To provide a useful idea rather than just sounding like I'm complaining, there could be a confirmation sent to the user whenever a milestone is reached or a way to check and inquire its progress. I would feel more aware if I knew the actual process you guys go through to check submitted covers, but my understanding is something like:

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
UserJoe69 submitted Sonic_Blast_from_the_Past_17.jpg for the Nintendo Switch Plus

[Checkbox] [Checked] Admin 1 - Approved
[Checkbox] [Checked] Admin 2 - Approved
[Checkbox] [Not Checked] Admin 3 - Waiting for Approval

Thanks for contributing to TheCoverProject! Every bit helps. :)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

With feedback emailed or DM'ed once the cover is done being inspected.

Approved:

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Cover approved!

Check it out here:

Thanks for contributing!

Or denied:

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Cover denied.

Reason for denial:
Fuzzy image. Please make sure the scan is 300dpi.

Thanks for contributing!

It's probably way more formal than you intend, but just an idea from an outside contributor's point of view. Some kind of status check would be awesome.

Last I knew, the upload feature was actually broken. Everyone has just been putting them in their respected forum posts

It will probably take a million years. Admins were unable to upload cover to the data base for more than half a year. Now that we can finally upload covers, we are inundated with submissions. If you have a cover that you'd really like to see on the website and it meets site standards, you can write me personally and I'll try and get it up. The bigger issue that most covers that are submitted don't meet site standards. It takes forever filtering through covers to find the ones that do meets our standards.

And they normally do not let you know if approved or denied.

I appreciate all the work this probably is.  I didn't know if everything was just "building up" while the database was down or what was going on.  I can only imagine how much stuff is in there.

I wish that there was the option for covers to be uploaded onto the site with the label 'Work in Progress'. It'd be much easier to manage if it's dumped there for now and held for if anyone is able to edit it later.

Bear78, Jl3legend, and Mel in particular have uploaded a ton of raw files that are hidden away in forum posts. It'd be awesome to have more accessibility to them. I just learned they existed. I'm sure I'm not the only one. I was harassing you guys for several Wii games that they already posted. :/ (I was moving into DS games when I found out their posts..)

I love that this site is a thing. I know it's currently a lot of work on so few admins, but that's an idea to at least push content through and encourage getting help with such a workload.

Won't happen for 2 reasons.
1: We barely have time to post ready covers (even WIP covers need some pre-check so no hopeless ones are posted).
2: We would get flood of "WIP" covers with no intention of ever been finished and way less actually ready covers.

But you are free to create and maintain topic or topics for such covers.
I can help when I have time.
I suggest one topic where only covers get posted with sister topic where all the talking happens.
Start with one spesific cover type.
If all goes well start new topic pair for another spesific cover type.

This is probably the way to go.  I've always just posted my raws in the equivalent thread (Wii cover thread, post there) but there is no real organization of course. If someone did a "Wii Raw Scans Thread" where everyone is directed to post their raw scans for the Wii, with the first post having a list and links to scans that have been posted, this would be ideal.  There is a Game Gear thread going for this already where I always post any GG scans I make.
