Has anyone looked at the $200 pledge?  "Receive all current and future Retro Fighters branded products for free."  While it's a lot of money, that has potential to pay off in the long run depending on what this company ends up making.  I have no intentions on backing at this level, but I don't think I've ever seen a reward like that before.
Maybe, just once, someone will call me "sir" without adding, "you're making a scene."

I've seen a few different companies do that stuff... but most of them haven't made any other products since then or even made the original product.

*shrug*

Have they announced any colors yet?
<-- If anything I have is checked as "Case/Box", I will scan it if you ask nicely... I'm pretty slow about getting things done though.  Laziness.

They are already up to $80k in pledges!
I have a chliq (I think) N64 controller that was $20 brand new. The quality was spot on, it was a very well composed clone and spot on quality.
I am hoping for a similar build quality from these guys.
I added 3 more controllers to my pledge.

It was starting to look like they owned a money printing press.  That went from a few hundred when I saw it to funded the same day I think.  I do not for the life of me know why something like this took so long to happen.  Everyone wanted to complain about the trident but only Hori did anything serious about it and only in super limited numbers.  I bet they sell a boat load of these.  And if the rumor of the possible Classic N64 is true then they can just swap out the plug for the Wii plug and sell another boat load of them next year.

I just pledged $20 for a controller. If it works out and I like the quality, I'll be getting one of their NES gamepads too. I'd like to see one for the Master System or a Saturn version which integrates the 3D Control Pad, but I'm not sure there's a large enough market for either. I'd love to see a good 3DO controller as well, but that's never gonna happen.

what about a CDI controller? Those things are stupid expensive if you want a wired gamepad.

Even less likely to happen than a 3DO controller.

If it works out and the quality is good, I would love to see them do other controllers as well, but I think realistically, they are more likely to work on other Nintendo controllers first, and maybe even do wireless versions of the Nintendo controllers before moving on to anything else.  If they go after any brand other than Nintendo, it would most likely be Sega (at least SMS and Genesis could theoretically be knocked out with one controller).

I'd love a nice CD-i controller! I used to have the one that looked like a 4 button Gravis PC controller. Someone (as in a guy) made a Genesis to CD-i adapter, but he didn't make many, and I've never seen one.

For 3DO, it's much easier. There was actually an SNES to 3DO adapter sold on stores. That one.I played with when I rented a 3DO oh so many years ago. The SNES controller is pretty much the best controller of all time, so there ya go. If you don't care for that, there's like a million other SNES controllers, or adapters to go into an SNES port that would probably work.

It seems like so far they've been focusing on replacing "problem" controllers. The NES was too small and uncomfortable, and the N64 could be awkward and had a terrible joystick. The only other Nintendo controller I can see them doing is the SNES, but I don't think anyone has a problem with the original. Wireless would be neat, but I'm not sure I'd pay more for the option unless they manage to completely eliminate any lag. Either way, I'm excited for whatever they come up with next!

Last time I looked, the SNES to 3DO adapters were really hard to find, and the few that were available cost more than the 3DO itself. Is there a retailer currently selling them somewhere?

I have one, along with the original packaging.  It doesn't work with all games, but it's a pretty cool little accessory.  It along with my wireless 3DO controllers (which came from here) are among my most obscure gaming items.

I would love to see a Wii Pro Controller that doesn't have to plug into the Wiimote.  I can't be the only one that hated they did that to them.

I don't know, I didn't actually look. I just meant in terms of CDi to 3DO. The CDi one was never mass produced.

They noted $29.99 when kickstarter is done on some colors (if not all?).

3 hours left (as a heads up).

I decided to back one controller.  Afterwards I received an email saying that for every controller you back, you will receive a coupon to get one of the colored controllers for the same backing price ($20).  All of the non transparent colored controllers should be available not long after the original is done, but the transparent controller will take longer because it requires a new mold.
