I have the game Lode Runner that has a broken cartridge, yet it still works.
I'm going to transfer the ROM board to the other cartridge casing that I have cleaned out. So, I was wondering if anyone could either...
* submit a completed copy of the NES cartridge label for "Lode Runner"
or...
* submit good scans of the label, face and top at 300-600 ppi, to raw scans.

By the way, the spare cartridge casing I have got was from my defected "Cybernoid" game. I removed what's inside, removed any labels, and save it for future usage.

Cant really help you there, but if you like Lode Runner, you should buy yourself the Famicom sequal, Championship Lode Runner and an Famicom-to-NES converter. CLR is much harder and requires mad Lode Runner skillz to beat even the first level.

I think if we wait enough or continue to ask Hudson Soft, we might see that game up on the Wii's Virtual Console.

That or you could make your own like i did (just need a copy of gyromite at a pawn shop for like $2) and gyromite still works.
If you have a top loader then it will work, but good luck with an original nes though.

to shenske: I'm not really a kind of person to mod stuff, even if it sounds very interesting. By the way, why did you have to slice the cartridge in half? :(

to erggthegreat: If you won't be able to get a scanner or have access to a scanner any time soon, that's not a problem. Just a curious question, does it come with the box?

Is it just me or is it REALLY hard to find NES games in their box compared to other systems?

Usually depends on the customer. I know lots of them, including me, would throw away the box and stuff that comes with the game like a manual or health and safety for examples.

I found something at eBay, so maybe I may get the cover for Lode Runner uploaded.

The US version of Gyromite it actually the japanese version with a converter to play on the US NES. (2 seperate chips that connect together)
The top half is the famicom chip of Gyromite and the bottom half is the converter.

Nintendo wanted to save money and time when they released Gyromite to the US.  So they used the Famicom chips + a converter chip and it fits perfectly inside of a NES cart.

So in short you stick your famicom game into the converter (bottom half of gyromite) and it is playable on US NES's.

Its a cheap converter because you can pick up Gyromite for about $2, you don't have to keep the game but you can because it still works.

Careful though, not all copies of Gyrnomite contain the converter. There are a few signs to determine if it has it in it:

Lable color: the one you want is purple, not blue.
Weight: the added bulk of the converter makes the overall cart heavier.
screws: in the back there should be 5 sets of screws, not three.

Other games that may work: Duck Hunt (without mario bros added!) Wild Gunman, Hogan's Alley, Stack Up

Back to the topic, I actually got a copy of Lode Runner through the mail.
It contains the box, cart, and manual. I'll be scanning each of those onto my computer.
So, this request can be forgotten now!

Well I'll be. Can you add up Lode Runner? I might be able to adapt a Famicom Championship Lode Runner cover outta the scan.
