I was able to order 2 of the Majoras Mask collectors edition but it was in two separate transactions. Not real happy about the pre pay. At least Gamestop offered free shipping.

I received Pit form Game.com today.  The box was smashed when it came to the door. The cardboard is really thin.  Luckily Pit was undamaged. Glad to be done with wave 2 madness.  All Wave 3 are preordered. I have my fingers crossed that they don't get cancelled.

So I know this is the amiibo thread, but in the drought between waves I've found myself researching other Nintendo figurines. amiibo are cool and all, but I certainly don't intend to do what the title of this thread suggests and "catch 'em all". At this point, with so few games supporting the figures, my interest in any particular amiibo boils down to its appearance, and if I don't like the way it looks, I've found myself looking for available alternatives.

Case in point, I've ordered myself these awesome Figuarts Mario and Luigi toys:

There's also an accompanying Yoshi on the way! Check it!

http://news.toyark.com/2014/12/26/official-images-info-sh-figuarts-yoshi-147380

You can even do this!

And this!

On top of these, I already own the Figma Samus, Link, and Pit figures. Lucina is also on the way, and she's looking good!

There is also the Jakks Pacific "World of Nintendo" line, which seems to have some decent figures as well, though I own none of them. I am interested in the 6" Bowser and DK though. There are also many new ones on the way this year, including a Star Fox figure! Read about/see concept art here: http://www.letstalknintendo.com/huge-amount-of-upcoming-toys-from-jakks-pacific/

By the by, the 6" figure line from Jakks Pacific my very well be making a Skull Kid figure in July that may e similar to the one found in the Majora's Mask Collector's Edition, though the quality may not be quite as high.

Sure, none of these figures interact with my Wii U or 3DS games, but they still look pretty cool. Also, the majority of these all come lovingly nestled in nice window-box packaging save for the "World of Nintendo" line, with the exception of the 6" figures (which may or may not have something to do with my interest in them, as I am a whore for sharp packaging that displays nice and can house a figure).

There are also some really cool nendoroid figures for Toon Link, Mario, Luigi, and even Sonic, among many other non-video game characters. Alas, I have no experience with these.

It was a ripoff, it was a 5$ figure glued into a $13 figure that sold for $200.

I bought the second one just in case you couldn't get one. Let me check with a buddy. He was going to preorder one this afternoon. If he was able to it is all yours.

Thanks, larry. While I don't need any pics, I do have two questions:

1) Are you happy with your Figuarts Mario?
2) If you still have the packaging, how does the figuarts packaging compare with the figma's? Specifically, which is shorter/taller, thinner/wider, etc. Or if you could provide specific dimensions, that would be awesome too!

1 - For the price, I am mostly satisfied with the Mario. My biggest complaint is the legs and articulation, its hard to get a running or jumping pose without them looking off. The legs cant go much farther back than standing, though go forward good. The knees, when they bend, seem to make the legs extend. So if one leg is fully bent and one is not, one leg looks longer than the other, and when both are fully bent, they look too long. I was able to work out a good looking jump pose. The shoulders also are not ball joints, they cant go straight out in a "T" pose they do have some wiggle room. I'll post some pics tomorrow showing what I mean.

2 - The boxes are WAY smaller. About the size of a Jewel case, Mario, Luigi, and Set A are as thick as 2 UGSs. Sets B and C are twice as thick and a litter wider on the front. IDK where a ruler is at the moment.

The biggest positive is the play sets, I own 3X Set As (blocks) One set B and C (Green and red pipes) I also have Luigi shipping in. The sets are cheapest on sites like Hobby Link and Amiami, $5-$10 cheaper than BBTS.
The Jakks Pacific Wario and Yoshi fit in very well, the Mario is the same height as S.H. and fit the scale of the Figmas. The Popco/Banpresto figures are mostly too big to be in scale, but Peach fits in well.
Mario also fits well in the Mario Kart 64 figure's karts.

Wow, that small hey? It's always so hard to tell the scale of the packaging from pictures floating around the internet because it's never next to something I am familiar with that I can use as a reference.

I do find that to be a bit of a bummer. One thing I love about the figma figures is that the pictures on the side of their boxes look great when they are all lined up side by side. I should carefully consider this new information before my order is shipped.

Man I am such a sucker for what is essentially garbage (the packaging). I think the Jakks Pacific micro playsets are kinda cool, but I wish so hard that they were in window-boxes that you could easily display and store them in. I also kinda wish they were better because, looking at them a second time, they don't seem all that great. Do you have any of the micro playsets? Also, what about the 6" DK and Bowser? I KNOW that they are in boxes that would be easy to display.
