Do you think there is call for a standard TCP style template?  ie: with a standardized spine?

You may have noticed that I like to match all of my spines for any given system.  I tend to focus on getting covers for all my games first, then I go around and try to get matching spines.  That is why i started that other thread with the matching Atari spines that you were also helping with.  I had a few 2600 games with missing covers.  Once I found the last few I started focusing on getting matching covers.

With that said, I wouldn't mind seeing all of the O2 covers with a mathing spine as well.  Personally, I think the covers WITHOUT the "Challenger Series" look fine to me.  I noticed that whoever made the Monkeyshines! cover left the "Challenger Series" blue bars on the front and back part of the cover, but left it off of the spine.  That doesn't seem like a bad idea, but I open to other ideas.

Since you are doing most of the work (well all of the work), it's really up to you.  I would hate for you to have to redo some of the covers and put more time into them.  However, if changing the spine is a quick PhotoShop job, than maybe it's worth it.  You woud know better than I would.  If you aren't up for doing that, I'll still be happy getting my O2 games in cases with awesome looking covers.
Maybe, just once, someone will call me "sir" without adding, "you're making a scene."

I'll work on something that makes the spines more uniform.  Should be just a matter of coming up with a style thats acceptable, putting it on a new layer, and pulling in the jpg files of already completed covers.

I don't really know what the concensus would be, as I dont have this system myself - and i swing from one day to the next between uniformity and retail on my other systems.  I'll post any spine ideas that i have up here before making any changes though, to make sure people like it before i produce a whole lot of covers nobody wants. lol

Not going to be this weekend, as it's my birthday, and have some friends flying in to drink lots, and talk shit for 3 days :)

I like that a lot!  :D

It's uniform, plus it matches the general style of the NES / SNES TCP spines hosted on this site.  What I can't decide is whether or not we should include the "Challenger Series" box on the spine or not.  I like the idea of keeping it as close to retail as possible, but I also like the idea of all the spines matching.  Either way, I think we should leave the "Challener Series" blue boxes on the front and back (only when they apply of course).

Hopefully others weigh in as I don't want to be the only person making the call.

And have a happy birthday!  Take some time off from this site and have a good time.  I'll have a beer in your honor. ;D

OK, I dropped the ball there.  With Mother's Day and all I didn't get around to working on this master list, but I will get around to it this week for sure.

Sheep, I hope you had a good birthday.

@Sheep,

Check this out!

http://www.the-nextlevel.com/odyssey2/media/boxscans.php#1

Kinda wishing I had found this earlier :-\

The master list is almost done.  I'll have it posted tonight.  We are farther than I thought.  47 official US release games in total, of which we have half scanned.  Nearly 1/3 of the list has a retail cover.  Seeing these numbers makes me want to go for a full US realase CIB set.

Ok, I posted the master list.  I have columns for scans, retail covers and custom covers.  I wish I could figure out how to include the grid lines which would make it easier to read.  I'll try and see if there is a way I can imbed an excel sheet onto the page

I think we now need to decide what our custom covers are going to be.

This is my opinion:
Use Sheep's custom Odyssey2 spine that he created last week
Exclude the "Challenger Series" logo from the spine on applicable games
Leave the front and back the same as retail (in other words, leave the "Challenger Series" logo on the front and back of applicable games)

Again, I am up for other opinions.  It's also up to Sheep if he wants to make multiple versions of each game.  If that's too much work, I completely understand.  I wish I could help create these.  If he wants to make only retail, I can certainly live with that.  However, I think the retail look will match my other TCP covers such as NES and SNES which use a similar theme.
