Been quite a slow month for me pick-up - wise since my financial situation is quite grim. But still managed to pick up something in addition to the Ufouria I posted earlier.

Super SWIV (or Firepower 2000 for you US types) is loads of fun, can't wait to play this with a friend. Ghouls'n'ghosts for the MD is the first game I have of the series and damn it's hard.

yes, yes it is, AND you have to finish it TWICE to get the true ending!

G&G is tough, Super G&G is maddening!

That's one more game I probably will never own, eBay prices circle a bit under 200 €. Do they make repros for PAL megadrives...?

Alien Soldier kicks all kinds of ass, though.

Being that they released it in PAL I've never seen a PAL repro and doubt anyone does. However, you could easily mod your MD to play NTSC games and get the US repro for about $45. That's what I'm going to do so I can play Zero Wing.

I have never seen Alien Soldier. I know you said it is PAL, but is there no USA version?

I don't think it was ever released as a physical copy, no. A quick check reveals that it was released on something called Sega Channel which I guess was kind of a precursor to Steam?

It was one of those late console releases and of limited amounts released so it's kind of rare these days. Excellent game, though.

Also, Polygon grossly overestimates my modding abilities if he thinks that modding a MD is "easily" done for me... (in reality I could ask if any of my friends can do it.)

It was released for Japan in NTSC and Europe as PAL. There was no physical release for the US. However, like other games such as Mega Man the Wily Wars, it could be played on the short lived Sega Channel.

Hehe, I guess it just seems easy to me. Worst case scenario, get a US Genesis to play it. It would still cost you well under half of $200.
