I'm not really interested in making vertical PS1 games and I don't think that I'll be making that many of them. This one is made by request.

PS: I also fixed a couple of things in the back of the standard version.

One small error in the cover: "Square Soft s stunning shooter" the apostrophe is missing...
This is present in your horizontal version as well.

I actually think that the verticals look nicer than the horizontals, although that seems to fly in the face of opinion. Nice job with these (specially the vertical! ;) )

I swear I've changed opinions on this multiple times, but currently if I ever case my PS1 games in DVD cases, vertical all the way. (Must... match... MGS1 cover)

Don't get me wrong.. I'm not saying that I hate vertical for the way it looks. After all, look at all my templates (SCD, SAT, 3DO)... They are all vertical.

But in the case of PS1 (were most of the games come in square CD cases), the top logo template works better. You can fit a lot more of the original cover into the, and it matches the PS2 cases.

Yeah..i agree they are a bitch to fit sometimes. But there's something about them that looks good.

Nice job, sheep; I'll have to get a vert of that Ridge Racer, but it should be easy enough to do for myself.

My whole deal with the horz/vert situation is that I went with the vert specifically because it was different from the PS2's horz orientation. I can tell from just a glance at the front cover that it is a PS1 game, which is nice considering that my PS3 is the cheap ol' "PS2-uncompatible" model. Also, the vert feels more retro, and it fits the spirit of the old jewel case template they worked with back in the day.

I do share the sentiments about it being a freakin' hassle to format the retail covers with though. It's the reason so many of the vert covers end up being custom. Just a small sacrifice as far as I'm concerned though.

i agree the vert look real nice - especially with a black spine - but as i'm predominantly only recasing PS1 games where the series continues on the PS2 - i wanted some uniformity.

Mine is the non PS2 compat ps3 too - but since i have a hard disk stuck in by PS2 it's no big deal.

If you want the PSD or raws for RR let me know

All looking nice sheep. :) Being as im going slimline DVD anyway, all the spines ive done match bar the NTSC/PAL flag. But for fronts, i use verts for my U.S games and good ol' PAL ones for the euro versions.

Duke Nukem : Time to Kill (PAL/UK)

Duke Nukem : Time to Kill (NTSC/vertical)

...and Horizontal

The NTSC ones are customs from the PAL front and a remade back...mainly because i dont have a scan for them. The front and back were quite different for NTSC and i felt the PAL back was a bit dull.

Come get some !! ;)
