Title: Looking for UGC's
Post by: SDODC13 on October 20, 2011, 03:40:09 PM
So I've been around the interwebs now for a while hunting and well have had no luck. All the normal places are either out or on back order..... this seems to have been a problem now for about 2 months... I was just wondering if anyone was willing to spare some to help a brother out. If not can one help me find an alternative that is about as cheap as UGC's.

This man is wise, UGC's are impossible to get these days. Especially in Australia!

Yes, double wide DVD cases are the way to go. And if you want the covers that are on the site to fit perfectly in them, you just need to resize them to 28,8 x 18,6 cm (or 3402 x 2197 px at 300 dpi). At least that's what I use for my 27mm boxes.

To add to this, double wide DVD cases are big enough, but there's no means of holding the game in place. Azarkhel (http://www.thecoverproject.net/forums/index.php?action=profile;u=22976) came up with an idea to hold them (http://www.thecoverproject.net/forums/index.php?topic=7411.msg62848#msg62848), if you're interested in doing so. That much is completely up to you, but it's something to keep in mind.

Well the rattling is not that big deal unless you are planning on shaking the cases violently. ;)

One advance in using Double Wide DVD cases is that SNES and N64 manuals fit nicely into them (heard that UGCs have trouble with them) and some cases even come with clips to hold them.

I can confirm that. UGCs don't have a place for the manuals, and getting them in one means that the will be a very slight bending the manual. The size difference is tiny, as the manuals almost perfectly fit (at least for the SNES), but not quite. You may be better off just storing the manuals seperately, if you get UGC.

That you'll probably have to ask Azarkhel about. It was his idea after all.

In Australia we have this place called Clark Rubber, most of their stuff is to do with pools and gym mats. Look them up on the net and see if your country has an equivelant chain store.

VHS plastic cases have almost the same size in inches , and I believe it is easier to find then having to import UGCs

I Will post pictures of half my cartriges with the VHS + Cover Project to show how it looks as soon as I dress the cases with the covers
