Title: SNES Vertical Conversions
Post by: thesubcon3 on November 16, 2010, 01:01:32 PM
I'm currently obsessed with getting all my SNES games in Vertical covers. I'm going to start converting them and posting them here as I do. If anyone else gets motivated feel free to post them here as well so we don't duplicate effort. Here is the list of Horizontal Covers on the site that I'm going to convert to Vertical. After I get this done, then I'll tackle my large list of games that I will need to create from raws.

Adventures of Dr. Franken
Beavis and Butt-Head
Bugs Bunny Rabbit Rampage
Chessmaster
Choplifter III
Daffy Duck The Marvin Missions
Ghoul Patrol
Magic Sword
Maui Mallard
NHL Stanley Cup
Pilotwings
Populous
Road Runner's Death Valley Rally
Super Tennis
Taz-Mania
Uniracers
Wizardry V

Screenshots are a bit blurry, but they're from the horizontal cover on this site.

Good, but the yellow and black bars above and below the picture bother me a bit, so could you either draw the missing parts or stretch the image to get rid of those?

Stretched vertically

Stretched proportionately

Let me know which you prefer and I'll upload it.

Oh, thank you for fast reply!

Probably the vertically stretched version, but the second might be nice too, it's hard to tell/decide from Imandix (on side wonder note who came up with the name of the program, sounds like I'm on d***s  ;D ) type previews as the front is at angle.

So if you don't mind would you upload or e-mail me both, so I can decide which one to print.

I like the first of the stretched as well. I finished Ghoul Patrol last night but I don't have a layering program so I extended the white bars. I'll post it up when I get off work and if need be I can manually stretch the picture to fit. It also doesn't have the underlying SNES gray icon on the back. It might be time for me to figure out layering...

Also I couldn't get Imandix to show the cover properly, the spine is a bit too small on the preview.

After seeing them both, I decided to go with the first one.

The second on is nice too, and it somehow gives same warm happy cozy relaxing feeling as thinking about having hot coco next to fire in winter when the temperature outside is very low.  ;D
Only tiny thing what I don't like is that R in super touches the upper edge.

I think it would be safe to say that tiktektak should decide which one he likes better  ;) But personally I think the vertically stretched one looks just fine.

Yeah, unfortunately I couldn't avoid that. It was either have the 'R' touch the upper edge, or have the 'T' in Tennis going into the spine.

I prefer the vertically stretched one myself, the tennis ball doesn't look *too* misshapen.

I like the first one because the text is centered better. The tennis ball looks fine to me.

I decided to not post Ghoul Patrol until I do a version with the proper template. Got sidetracked yesterday glossing my bar that I'm building, but perhaps today I'll be able to dedicate some time to it.

Thanks! No worries on timeliness. My daughter decided to come a month early so I'm going to now be a lot busier. When I finally get home from the hospital I'll download the missing covers.

Congratulations.

When I finally get home from the hospital I'll download the missing covers.

I'll see if I manage to make some of the missing ones, least partially.

Thanks! And you rock and or roll for finding and making these missing ones.
