Since we seem to have a very diverse group of people here I was just curious what country/part of the country you are from.
I live in the South Central Texas, US.
-
Albany-area of New York, USA
-
I am just down the road from you in the Hill Country
Pipe Creek, TX - YES, it is an actual place :)
and NO, I am not a redneck..... well, OK maybe a little :)
-
whsbrngr, It's ok, we are all a little bit redneck. I mean, I own tools, fix things, and sometimes don't change the channel when NASCAR is on.

Well, I have to use a tractor to mow the grass and I do enjoy the redneck comedy tour guys. (and some of their in-laws sure remind me of my in-laws :) )

Clio, Michigan
-
Brighton. East Sussex. UK
-
Auckland, New Zealand ..... which is on the outer rim near the Rishy Maze ;D
-
I live in Ohio, in an area south of Cleveland. OSU v. Florida was embarassing, incase anyone watched it, too bad Troy Smith isn't injured, instead of Ted Ginn.
-
Hamm, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. Yes, I'm a Kraut :)
-
My Grandmother was German. Her mother came out to NZ from Germany in late 1800's I believe.
I've always wanted to visit Germany as I have her Birth certificate number from Brandenburg which I wanted to trace for the family tree.
If I ever get over there at least I'll know one person who speaks English eh ;D
-
Brandenburg is about a 4 hour drive away from me :)
-
Permanent Address is in Mesquite, TX (outside of Dallas)
I go to school in Norman, OK (you should be able to guess which school that is :P)
-
Southern Ontario, Canada. Glad to see so many people from all over are able to come here and contribute to this project!

Skippy ..... Skippy ..... Skippy und busch Kangaroo .... la la laaaa. Hmmm .... no go there
Ahhh ...... you must mean Austria-lia ..... home of Kylee ... and funnel web spiders ... and coral snakes ... and redback spiders ... and Huntsmen [size of a dinner plate] spiders ;D
-
Um....last time I checked, Canadians speak English and French, not Canadian, Valeman. Though I speak some Japanese as well :D
-
Well .... he implied I live in Europe ..... patently untrue I might add :)
So I got out my Austrian accent as opposed to my Australian accent ..... although I'd take the other one any day in preference to Aussie twang .... hehehe
-
Um....last time I checked, Canadians speak English and French, not Canadian, Valeman. Though I speak some Japanese as well :D
Yeah, I know.... I was just trying to make a funny (You may not be old enough to know Bob & Doug McKenzie) and playing with TheValeman cause he is from New Zealand and since it is close to Australia, I said Austria, cause I was perpetuating the idea that Americans don't know geography.
With that said, I will retreat back into the hills of Texas with the other rednecks and wait for the government to come get me.
:D
It was all just a sad joke.....
(besides Austria, Australia - whats the difference? ) <--- again, this is just a joke, no offense intended
-
Hahahahahahaha .......
Don't worry you old bugga [Aussie slang] .... I got it loud and clear and was happy to carry it on ;D
Maybe I need to retreat back to the Piha rock with my Meremere [ a greenstone club ] and wait it out too.
All kidding aside ... it's just a bit of friendly banter between wshbrngr and myself as he's lived in New Zealand too and knows our pacific humor. No offense intended to anyone at all .....
-
...and suddenly Peter Jackson's earlier movies make a lot more sense :D
-
ROFLMAO!!!!!

I live in Florida. I love it here, especially since I live in a small town. The only downside is that there's no highspeed Internet around here, which I really want for online gaming.
-
At least you can roll out of the door and watch a Shuttle/Delta launch. And maybe catch a piece or two when something falls off ..... :)
I remember seeing a video of a unmanned Delta rocket blowing up just off the pad. Man .... what a bomb!!!
And no .... I'm not going anywhere near Challenger. I don't get off on seeing/talking about loss of life when people are trying to further science/knowledge for all mankind.
-
I'm from Austria, Lower-Austria!

Been there, done that.... we moved from the city to the country almost 2 yrs ago. The cable modem was a tough giveup.
We finally got DSL available in our area last week... ;D
(after 2 yrs of complaining to the phone company)

I was born in a part of Berlin, Germany which wasn't a part of Berlin in the time of the cold war and now is. Actually (since 2004) I live in Potsdam (land of Brandenburg) and also next to Berlin. By car it's about one hour to Brandenburg city:

Maybe this year I move to Dresden with a friend of mine, to run a RPG-shoppe. I look forward to move to Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul, Brasil in 2008/09 for a couple of years.

I'm done complaining (along with the rest of the town).
It's their loss. They could have made it into a win-win situation, but I guess telephone companies will always be idiots. >:(
-
Whenever I deal with the telephone company, I ALWAYS think of Lily Tomlin (As Ernestine).
If you are old enough to remember her, you know what I mean, and if you don't know her you should look her up. ;D
'We are the phone company, we can do whatever we want'
-
Haha .... Lily Tomlin? .... She's really old now .... about your age I reckon ..... ;D

Interesting topic.
We, I'm from Central Queensland, Australia. It's a little like texas but about 5 times bigger :) Actually, a lot like texas. Brahman Bulls everywhere, cattle saleyards every three miles, and enough cowboy hats to make you think wyatt earps gonna be alone to clean up the town any minute....errr, the bulls and hats part are pretty much right, appart from the cows theres billions of tonnes of coal, which we ship to China, who pollutes the planet, and then ships barbie dolls to texas. Its a viscious cycle. Our coal, Chinas polution, and barbie dolls. Its why we and the USA wont sign that environmental thingy that everyone raves about...kyo...or something..
Anyway, I moved to Melbourne where I now spend two hours on the freeways each day traveling 15 miles to and from work. If anyone from the US wants to know what australia looks like, stand in the middle of the street, hold up a large mirror and there you have it, the cars will be on the opposite side. do it with a heep of toyota camries, jeep cherokees, and pontiac GTO's in the background for that realistic look. Works for mainland europe aas well with the beamers audi's and mercs...but only to look like Sydneys North Shore :)

Home of the 2008 Super Bowl Champs!
2008 was the Giants. I think you mean 2009 superbowl champs. I don't think that's going to happen, steelers need to get through the ravens first. Plus, either the eagles or the cardinals are no walk in the park. Look what the eagles did to the cowboys in week 17, ouch!
I'm just really glad to see the chargers get it handed to them, it was long overdue. :)

Really? I graduated there in 2001 with my B.A. in music. I do love OWU, fantastic college for a fairly reasonable price for a private Christian university.

No actually it goes by the year of the season- They won it all on Feb 5, 2006 and they were the 2005 Champs. SO... even though they play it in 2009 they are still the champs of the 2008 season. And lets face it the Ravens vs. Steelers is actually the Super Bowl. Whoever wins that will have any easy time, neither the Eagles or the Cards have a defense thats even close to the Steelers or Ravens.
-
I'm currently living in Vienna, Austria.... Grew up in the countryside though in Bad Pirawarth....
Actually I'm feeling quite exotic now.... ;D
