Title: SNES "For Sale And Use in..." Font
Post by: Bear78 on August 27, 2019, 11:29:39 AM
Does anyone know the exact font for the "FOR SALE AND USE IN THE USA, CANADA AND MEXICO ONLY." text on the back of SNES boxes?  I've got Intervogue Soft Alt Ultra Oblique and it's really close but not exactly the font.

Depends on the box. I've seen different variations from time to time, but the most common one is usually Helvetica Bold. To be honest, Helvetica is the font that's typically used for most of the legal text found at the bottom of SNES boxes.

Thanks man, I'll try that out.

I've been using Zurich for most of the legal text in the past.

Helvetica is a very common font used quite often for text on video game boxes/covers. Definitely handy to have that font family available to use.

Futura Bold is also used on occasion for that part.

This is true. Futura actually makes an appearance on other Nintendo boxes as well. 1st party GBC and GBA games use it for the legal text etc. Definitely another handy Font family to have on hand.

Also Gill Sans MT is used for legal text on SNES boxes.
