I don't own a 3000 model but a 2000, but from what I know (I may be wrong though) the only differences between the two are a better screen on 3000 and a slightly different shell. I've owned my PSP for less than a week and I can't stop playing it. It really is a great system. Too bad it's so underrated.

PS: The 3000 isn't the latest model. The latest is the E1000 which is a budget model and it's crap - cheaper parts, no Wi-Fi and a mono speaker. Fortunately it's a European exclusive model so the rest of the world got spared. But that's just me rambling - pay no attention to it.

the 3000 is ok, IMHO it only has a couple of tiny flaws, the UMD door just pulls open and pushes closed, no funky spring release like the 1000 has, also its harder to install CFW, as soon as you turn it off it "forgets" the CFW and goes back to the original, meaning you have to re-install it, only takes a couple of seconds, but i'd still prefer not to have to do it

Ok, I own quite a bit of psp's and the best model hands down is the 2000.

I run pro B9 fully flashed as my custom firmware on all my systems.

Now the 2000 model changed it's style from Phat to slim during this timeline. And has some Phat variations and slim variation.

And they both can have the firmware fully flashed to it.

And yes it has a GREAT library of games.

Yes, the PSP 1000 and 2000 models are the only ones that can be fully flashed.
The PSP 3000 and GO models cannot be fully flashed, (unless they came up with a way todo it in the last couple of months).
You have to reload the firmware every time you boot the system. Which is still not bad, it only takes a few seconds but it's kind of annoying lol.

I think that the 2000 and 3000 can connect to a tv and the 1000 can't.

Yep. They can also charge via USB cable.

So like I said, 2000 is practically the best model. lol.

Casn you somehow connect Dualshock 2 or Dualshock 3 to PSP?
It would be so awesome to play PSP games on TV with comfortable controller.

if you can find one of these you can;

otherwise you'd have to do a hard mod, which i'm currently in the process of doing

I saw a few pictures a looooooong time ago about how someone did a SNES controller mod for his wife so she could play the PSP. She had something wrong with her hands so she couldn't hold/play the PSP corretly.

There's a video on YouTube. Someone posted it my "was bored, did mod" thread on cheap ass gamer. I can dig it up. Seems pretty straightforward.

Or you could do that without spending that much cash.

Custom firmware and RemoteJoy Lite and you've got PSP on your PC with gamepad input. Now just connect the PC to a TV and you're done.

Just finished setting it up, now all I need is an audio cable so the sound isn't coming from the PSP.

Thanks for the opinions guys. My brother just gave me a PSP Go. Which uses blue tooth so I can use a PS3 controller. He also gave me the tv cables. The only thing that sucks is its limited to a 16 gb memory card. Since nobody makes  a 32gb M2. And a 16GB sony card costs $40.
