If you can get it done without damaging your manual, go for it. But I wouldn't want you to rip anything.
You might not have to at all. If the PAL manuals follow the same suit as the Canadian multi-language manuals like my copy of Sonic 1, the first page seems to be the "Setting-Up" which is just a generic page at the beginning of the every manual. If you can confirm that, I have no use for that page anyway!

The pictures in the manual seemed to be in the english part, but couple pictures seemed to be on the italian? part, all the pics are scanned.

And sorry for jacking your collection thread with my scan request. I made a request for these scans some time ago with no luck, so I'll move all these scan related posts over that folder to clean up your collection thread. ;)
