WTB: Sega Genesis/Master System cases
(1/1)
scarmullet:
Yes, Sega Genesis/Master System clam shells. No artwork, no games, just the Clam shells with the sleeve to hold the artwork.

I know some of you have put your collection into UGCs, and may have some Clam shells laying around. Again, not looking to spend a lot on these.

PM me if you have any.

I have to say, I have found a *ton* of these a local thrift stores: Goodwill, St. Vincent de Paul, and flea markets are usually stuffed with Genesis games, at the very least.  Here in town, we have a technology-recycling store called Next Step that had a lot of Master System games a while back.  While none of the cases were empty, they were only asking a buck or two per game, complete in the case with manual.

I've bought my fair share of $2 Genesis games just for the cases.  I get them home, take out the cartridge and the artwork, and soak the cases in the sink with some dish soap.  They rinse off clean, with no dust or grime, and dry off pretty quickly.  Nearly every "complete" Genesis game I own was put together like this, with the case coming from a used game I got at Goodwill.

Good luck with your search!

Thats the thing, not many places near me sell games (which is why I am opening up my own store) let alone clam shels.

Aw, that bites that most of the stores near you don't have many games.  It would definitely be the easiest way to go!

Hopefully, as you stated in your original post, some members on the forums will have put their Genesis games into UGC's, and not need the original clamshells.  That totally makes sense, and you're right, someone has to have a stash of them lying around somewhere.

Aside from that, you may have luck winning an online auction for a lot of 20 or 30 games.  I do a lot of buying and selling on a "certain major online auction site," and I can vouch that there are some sellers who have a pile of outdated sports games / overstock copies of the "Sports Talk" series of games that sell for next-to-nothing.  Sega's Sports Talk series of sports games came in clamshell cases with the official Sega logo inside, hang tags on the back, and the cartridges were the regular size, as well.  If you have to go the online route, that would probably be the best way to go to get official Sega cases.

I hope someone here can help you!  How many cases are you looking for?  I may be able to scrounge some up from boxes in my closet, though I think I'd only have five or six at the most.  Would that help?
