I'd use Zelda 2 link on Zelda 2 cover and Pac-man on Pac-man and Non-fire Super Mario

Fire Mario is cool by me.

I agree on putting Zelda 2 Link instead of Zelda. I understand the idea of putting Link on the Zelda cover and Zelda on the Link cover but... idk it doesn't really work.

I'm fine with the ghost on Pac-Man. Pac Man himself isn't the most exciting looking thing.

The only thing I dont like is that Excitebike isnt using an authentic game sprite as where all the others do. Looks like it was cut out from the actual box art.

I'm honestly not a fan of the upside down Donkey Kong. As a whole though, this is pretty nice. If I had every one of those games, I'd seriously consider these spines.

if your looking for another series to tackle could you try the harry potter games? both PC and handheld,
i have or plan to buy most of them, but for handhelds could you do these ones;

GBC
philosophers stone
chamber of secrets

GBA
prisoner of azkaban
goblet of fire
(cant remember if i have order of the pheonix for ds or gba)

DS
half-blood prince
deathly hallows pt1
deathly hallows pt2

suggestions? how about just the harry potter logo spread across the 8 spines near the top with roman numerals along the bottom?, that would work for both the handhelds and the PC.

what i mean is if you look at GH3, mw2, brutal legends you notice they dont have the boring plain text spines where as stuff like resistance, SFIV, NG2, TESIV, KZ2 do have the boring plain text spine

so you just want to print a new spine and insert it into the cover - with the game name as a logo, rather than boring text.

I was already thinking about undertaking something like that to switch the old style spines to the new style, without having to reprint the whole cover.

Did you want them all in new style, or as per their retail release?

i was thinking about printing just the spine out and sticking them onto plastic sheets and inserting them into the orignal cover since it will save alot more money (which i dont have alot of atm)

Think the KONG letters might be overdoing it?

I'm with Arseen, the KONG letters work.  What doesn't work (for me) are the muddy shades of brown/green (which almost any inkjet printer will have a nearly impossible chance of replicating) and the sprites at the top.  I LOVE sprite art, but the DKC stuff hardly qualifies since it's just a super low res snapshot of a 3D model.  A style that repulses the shit outta me to this day and is the only thing that I hold against Nintendo, as its responsible for ruining at least 2 of their biggest franchises at the time (DKC and Killer Instinct).  It looked dated the moment it was released.

Sorry for the rant.  I think the sprites are totally acceptable, I just don't care for them.  The colors, on the other hand, I feel are a blight on your otherwise competent spine designs.
