I did what you suggested and uploaded it to box.net.  Here is the link.

I don't see much of a difference, though.

When you zoom it in, you'll see a difference.

Only you can access the file you posted. When you're in My Box, click on the arrow in the courner of the file and select get public link. That's the link I need.

Here is the public link.  Sorry for all the confusion.  I'm new to this kind of stuff.

Ok, MS paint is useless. There was no difference. Did you scan your box at 300 dpi?
http://getpaint.net/download.html
I know you said your computer wouldn't open it, but it's an exe, you just double click on it. It might have a warning that says it could harm your computer(like that for all exe's) but don't worry about it. Make sure the image is 300 dpi, not 96.

Paint.NET won't run unless I download Framework 2.0 and a bunch of other software.  I just don't know what to do, and I don't want to mess up my computer.  I guess I'm going to have to stick to relying on other people to make the covers for me, unless a friend could help me do this, or fix up what I already have.  :(

I'd suggest downloading the .net framework, it shouldn't take too long. You're not gonna mess anything up. You cant try the GIMP (google it) if you want.

Jeffrey:

1. Did you scan this box or did you download these images from the net?
2. If you scanned it, you need to scan the images at 300 dpi
(and if you upload the raw images, someone will make a high resolution cover for you.)
3. do not load the images or save them with MS paint as I think it resets the dpi to 96 or some low
    res setting by default.

I got these images from the internet because I don't have a scanner.  I am going to get a new printer that has a scanner, though soon.  But unfortunately, I do not think that I have the box anymore.  I'll have to look around.  And for now, all I have to work with is MS Paint, and this program is not useable.  What editing software do you recommend?

FFS READ WHAT I AM WRITING!

PAINT.NET or THE GIMP! DON'T ASK QUESTIONS YOU DON'T WANT THE ANSWER TO!

Images off of google will most likely not work for something like this. You could try to make a spine so it looks nice on your shelf, shouldn't be too hard.

In this thread alone people recommended Gimp and Paint.Net several times!!!

GIMP
http://www.gimp.org/windows/

Paint.Net

First you'll need the .Net Framework
http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/netframework/aa904955.aspx

then you can download an run Paint.Net
