| NES/SNES Shell Replacements? |
| (1/2) > >> |
| Riyonuk:
First post here, anyways, was hoping someone knew if anybody made or is going to make, maybe those gray shells for the cartridges? That way, when I got to garage sells, and buy games that are missing the labels and such, all I would have to do is unscrew the game, take the chip out, insert it into the new, fresh shell, and apply a sticker. Instant mint condition game. Hola Snowcone! |

Unusual you'd want to do so, but yeah, they exist. Retrozone has started selling empty NES cases for $3.50 each. They come in red, dark blue, or transparent, not gray like the original carts. The reason for this is a little unclear, but probably to either distance themselves from Nintendo so they don't get sued, or to make it clear that these parts are retrozone's own design, or both. The advantage here is that these cases use standards phillips screws instead of the special security screws real NES games have that require the use of a special screwbit. http://www.retrousb.com/index.php?categoryID=85 |

Well I certainly wouldn't want to buy those. Gray is the way to go :D0 How is it unusual, whats so unusual about wanting to restore classic games to a more elite condition? Im sure most people hear don't care for torn or scratched up cartridges. |

If I had NES cartidges that needed replacements, I'd just deal with the ones there. It's not a hoooooooge deal, right? |
