I like your layout for the Vampire case, but personally I think that Mark Brooks artwork you used for the background is pretty hideous... I like the B&W version better than the full colour one, but either would look much much better with actual Capcom art if you ask me.
i like the current artwork i have for the background. Most of the other artwork on the net (in high enough rez) is from other VC titles. I really didn't want to use artwork from one game for a different one.
The Soul Calibur cover looks pretty good, but I think the pictures of Kilik and Taki look quite jarring. I think if it had a uniform CG look it'd look a lot better.
I don't have any artwork of Kalik, i think you are refering to Seigfried in the upper right. I understand why you would think a uniform CG look would work better or maybe uniform sketched characters.
On another note, although I guess it won't bother a lot of people here, alot of the text on the Japanese version covers looks really hokey, if not downright broken. They would look a lot more appealing to me at least if they were more modeled after the original Japanese covers. Also, I dunno if it's a template thing, but the bottom of the spine shouldn't say SEGA for non-SEGA games. Most Japanese game cases (Dreamcast included) has the developer or publisher's logo on the spine, not the hardware manufacturer's (SEGA, in this case).
Many times with Japanese DC covers i don't have any raws to work with. I assure you the text isn't broken, i had someone who can read japanese on my floor help me out.
Yeah its a template thing with the sega logo at the botom. I am well aware that generally Japanese covers have the developer logo at the bottom of the spine but its a custom cover with a custom uniform template. We are trying to keep all the Dreamcast games uniform throughout all regions.
The PAL template looks good (far better than the atrocious actual PAL cases), but you need to lose the SEGA logo on the top right beneath the Dreamcast logo. Soul Calibur isn't a SEGA game, and it's quite an awkward place for a company logo, anyway.
Great work all in all. Looking forward to seeing more stuff from you.
Soul Calibur may not be a Sega game but its on a Sega console.
(just check out how many nintendo logos there are on a Gamecube case for example)
About the Sega logo location: 1/2 of the PAL DC covers i come across have the sega logo under the dreamcast swirl. So once again just keeping it uniform for all the PAL covers.
thank you for your input
