--- Quote from: KaiserWAVE on May 07, 2008, 06:36:18 PM ---Is this the original retail cover for Vampire Chronicles or some custom artwork you found and used? I think it's a bit bland for a game that nearly bursts with candy colors. But you're unlikely to come across another cover for this game other than yours so good work as usual! --- End quote --- the original is even worse! the background is completely black with a faded gray picture of Demitri. if you would like i could use the artwork i used only not grayscale it edit: like this? |

and now a few more regions ... Soul Calibur (JP) Soul Calibur (PAL) tell me what you think |
| KaiserWAVE:
I like your PAL template for Soul Calibur. I'm not a big black and white fan so the artwork is not my cup of tea but that's just my personal taste and by no means criticism. The second version of your Vampire Chronicles cover is way better than the grayscaled one. Not only does it look absolutely great, it just suits the game better. |

I like your layout for the Vampire case, but personally I think that Mark Brooks artwork you used for the background is pretty hideous... I like the B&W version better than the full colour one, but either would look much much better with actual Capcom art if you ask me. The Soul Calibur cover looks pretty good, but I think the pictures of Kilik and Taki look quite jarring. I think if it had a uniform CG look it'd look a lot better. On another note, although I guess it won't bother a lot of people here, alot of the text on the Japanese version covers looks really hokey, if not downright broken. They would look a lot more appealing to me at least if they were more modeled after the original Japanese covers. Also, I dunno if it's a template thing, but the bottom of the spine shouldn't say SEGA for non-SEGA games. Most Japanese game cases (Dreamcast included) has the developer or publisher's logo on the spine, not the hardware manufacturer's (SEGA, in this case). The PAL template looks good (far better than the atrocious actual PAL cases), but you need to lose the SEGA logo on the top right beneath the Dreamcast logo. Soul Calibur isn't a SEGA game, and it's quite an awkward place for a company logo, anyway. Great work all in all. Looking forward to seeing more stuff from you. |
