Any chance of a GC conversion?

thats pretty probable if thats what you request.

i have never looked into the gamecube template.
i'll have to check it out first.

There is no GC template. It sucks too, because the GC doubled the DC sales! :'( May I reccomend using the custom Pac-Man Vs. cover as a template? That's what I did. Remember that custom cover=not having to stick to a template.

TIME! a lot of it!
(on photoshop)

i found high resolution pictutes of the sky at night and during the day.
(i messed with the color properties of the sky full of stars for a while.)
I rotated them 45 degrees, set them next to each other and merged them.  I took the smudge tool and smudged the picture in the middle for at least 30 minutes to get the correct fade effect.

thats the short version of what i did  :)

i'm not sure who i should put fot the artist on these covers when i upload them.  :-\

i noticed when lumberjack placed eightcell's "Marvel vs. Capcom 2" cover in his template he listed the artist as himself.

i don't want to confuse people or steal anyone's thunder by only putting my name as the artist.

mods, what do you think i should do?

Put your name as the artist. If you feel like it give other people who might have helped creating the cover credit in your posts with the previes of your covers.

Actually, when I uploaded that cover I did put Eightcell-Lumberjack42 in the file name. It just got added to the site as mine. I didn't even notice that had happened until now.

I do know how to ive proper credit where it is due.

oh i wrote that incorrectly  :-[ .  i wasn't trying to say that you weren't giving him credit for it, my bad.

i know you give credit where it is due.

i just didn't know if the site recognized the "double artist" thing.

The admins have to add a cover artist to the database. After that, when adding covers, you choose the artist via a drop down menu.
So to allow "double artist"-thingies we'd have to add that name to the database (e.g Shenske-Lumberjack42). Imagine how much the database will be cluttered if we added those combinations like Shenske-KaiserWAVE, Shenske-Doom and so on. It would make cover adding a chore and pretty time consuming.
So if you have created a cover with someone else's scans or took a certain part of an existing cover, just make a post giving credit. The cover itself will be posted with your name. That way everybody's happy :)

The only problem I have with this is the fact that I've made over three times the DC covers than shenske and it just seems weird to me that just slapping a white dc spine on it is enough work to get the main credit. Also, the white spine backs I've seen use the exact same rear text and barcodes where mine are actually accurate to the retail packaging. That's what holds up making overs for me is making sure that I have the right legal text and barode for each game I make. Maybe that's being too anal, but it's a sticking point with me. Maybe I'm off base on this but I'm just not comfortable with it.

i really don't want to take credit for your covers because i have not done much to modify them.

all my dreamcast covers use the same legal information and barcode (most people don't look at that).
Warlock made a good point a few months ago, the text is so small on the back information that it is illegible (for the average printer) when it is printed.
(Please lets not talk about "accurate to the retail packaging" because that is one of the reasons the war started and i don't want to dig that up)

i love the covers that you made so much that i wanted to add them to my library (which is all white) and they don't fit  :( .
i converted them a while back and decided to share them with the community that might be in the same boat as i am.

in the end look at it this way, more covers for everyone.

edit: i don't know if you noticed but i modified my template to have both spine/back color options.  All the DC covers i have done lately and in the future will have both all white and orange spine/black options.  you might want to look into it  :)
