Could you try re-scanning it with the De-rasterize option on?
If not, I think I can work with this.

i dont think this is any better... my scanner isnt all that great, it doesnt even have the derasertize option. it has some descreen thing, but it doesnt really seem to do much. eventually i gotta buy a descent scanner, instead of using the one that came with my cheap 90 dollar printer

if you want, i could send it to you and you could scan it yourself, assuming you have a scanner, or if you dont, i could send it to someone else and have them scan it.
