Yes, the PS2 design did influence the spine on this template, mainly as an aesthetic choice but also as a way to differentiate between my DC collection and my budding Wii collection.

I'm sorry that that choice disappoints you, but you wouldn't be the first nor will you be the last to disagree with that choice.

I noticed later that PS2 uses that format.  And that is what my post was about, just a "why this way?"

True, it's not my preference, but I can see official PS2 templates do that and it's obviously not a big deal.

Strange though, how every other system except PS2 uses a format that works with DVD cases in horizontal positioning.  That would be... Wii (although no logo), GCN, Xbox, and 360.  None of my PS1 games, now that I look closer, have a logo on the jewel case spine.

And I certainly agree with AppleQueso, it's not a big deal and if I want that positioned differently, it would be extremely easy.

  • ...and that's the bottom line
Kinda off-topic...
I'm just curious. Do you try to collect a full US DC set? I'm just asking because (IMO) Spirit Of Speed is a godawful game. So either you like it, got it dirt cheap or searched for it to complete your collection.

At this point it's a little of both. If i see a game for a reasonable enough price that I haven't made a cover for yet then I'll usually pick it up. I just haven't gone out of my way to get games as of yet. That will happen when I get closer to actually finishing my collection.

I figured we would've already had DOA2 for a while now. That game is by far one of the most common games on the system.

Just kidding, I'm looking forward to that one.  Thanks for all your hard work Lumberjack, these covers look awesome.  This is the way Dreamcast games should have come in the first place.

We do, several actually. If you've been on the site for any length of time, you'll see that my goal when I made my first DC cover that my goal was to make a cover for every single US Dreamcast game released. I'm just over halfway mark on the completion of this project.

And now I'm going to be a horrible tease and show you the finished front (rear still WIP) and how it lines up with the spine of Star Wars Racer.

Ain't I evil....  ;D

Made a cover for Record of Lodoss War -

Get it in the UL directory - http://www.thecoverproject.net/uploads/segaprophet.custom.dc_recordoflodosswar.jpg

Not bad, but the front is a little stretched for the quality standards of this site. The back looks good at first glance though.

Here's one thanks to dmc1974 that I know he's been waiting for. And now it is done. Behold!

Star Wars Episode I: Jedi Power Battles

Enjoy!

Now all I need are good scans of Star Wars Demolition and the trifecta will be complete.
