FWIW, he's doing NES ones now (example).  He seems to charge more for his NES ones given that he has to modify them, but still, what a prick.  Although, if someone needs only one case I guess it's easier to just do this than to buy a single UGC and have a single label printed once you factor in shipping (and paper/ink costs, although nobody who doesn't already own a colour printer would buy one just to print out a single label).

And yes, looking at his feedback, he's sold quite a few.  I wonder how much I end up spending on my cases.  My paper is .30/sheet (3-star glossy from Epson), UGCs are roughly .50 ea after shipping, and if I had to estimate I'd say I can get about 40 labels out of a pack of Epson ink (depending on how many I print, obviously...SNES labels, for example, use much more black than any NES Jaleco title would) which costs about $88 for a full colour pack plus black (free shipping from Epson at least), which comes out to $2.20/sheet.  So my cost would be roughly $3.00 per case, all tolled.  He offers free shipping, which for a First Class Mail package that would accommodate a UGC would be about $2.00.

So yeah, he's pulling about $6.00 per NES case he sells.

He started to credit TCP, but you have to dig deep into his website, and only credits Shenske as the creator of the template on his blog.

I'm very tempted to blow this guy in... and I can.  I just worry he could get our site in trouble when he gets busted.  On the other hand, he is going to get caught at some point in which case he will point the finger here as us anyway.

Just let him be.  All he's really selling is the time and effort it takes to print, trim, and install the covers plus his costs.  It's not like he's gonna retire early because of those sales.

Is it a bummer that we get no recognition?  Meh, not really.  We don't any need attention brought to what we're doing, especially from companies like Nintendo who seem to HATE any fan-made creations using their characters and brands.

Let's just keep doing what we're doing, and hopefully we'll stay under the radar...

No.. what he is doing violates copyright laws.  Something companies like Nintendo do not take kindly to.  He is selling home-made reprints of their artwork.

I respect GCW because I do not want to be at the mercy of Staples or mom and pop print shops, which are becoming scarcer by the day. I would prefer to pay that site for a quick and easy transfer and remain under the radar. I apologize if I seem to be betraying the people of TCP, but it would seem that having easy access to printing covers is justified by allowing them to use templates and covers.

No shit, that's my point.  Let's not associate with him so that we don't bring attention to what we're doing.
