I have noticed a lot of people have suggested using alternate cases to the UGCs since no one can find them in stock.  Most suggest using multiple CD cases, however I am wondering how a case designed to hold a CD can ever snuggly hold an SNES, N64, or NES Cart.  Can someone please explain this to me...  perhaps with pictures?

Hopefully its not just a, "throw the cart in there and let it bounce around" type of thing.

It's double wide DVD cases:

And yes the carts sit loosely, but you can use foam or something to make holders for the carts.

That makes me sad.  I have too much OCD to allow the carts to hang loose.  Hopefully an actual alternative will show up soon, or the UGC will be come available again.

Can you post a link to where you buy your DVD cases?

UGC's should hopefully be available early Decemeber.

I ordered some of these to see if they would work well.

http://www.cdrom2go.com/product/usdm-p59072-1-inch-stacker-case-8-disc-black_1951_72.htm

I'm supposed to received them on Nov. 7 so I'll post my results soon after that.

These guys are in Phoenix so if You're in the states and they work out it could be a viable alternative to the UGC.

.. and here is one US place. High ridge aroungd the discs might cause problem though, so ...

Any of the big dvd/bd case shops should have 25-28mm cases, most will be the trays but some will be stackpaks.
Examples from the 2 places I frequent most...

American-Digital
3 Disc (25mm) http://www.american-digital.com/prodsite/product.asp?p=1050&c=1967&name=DVDCase-BlackTripleM-LockHub
4 Disc (28mm) http://www.american-digital.com/prodsite/product.asp?p=1052&c=1967&name=DVDCase-BlackQuadM-LockHub
5 Disc (25mm) http://www.american-digital.com/prodsite/product.asp?p=1419&c=1967&name=DVDCase-BlackFiveDVDM-LockHub
6 Disc (25mm) http://www.american-digital.com/prodsite/product.asp?p=1420&c=1967&name=DVDCase-BlackSixDVDM-LockHub
7 Disc (27mm) http://www.american-digital.com/prodsite/product.asp?p=2051&c=1967&name=DVDCase-BlackSevenDVDHolder
8 Disc (27mm) http://www.american-digital.com/prodsite/product.asp?p=2052&c=1967&name=DVDCase-BlackEightDVDHolder
9 Disc (33mm) http://www.american-digital.com/prodsite/product.asp?p=2110&c=1967&name=DVDCase-BlackNineDVDHolder

SleeveTown

Basically, at least for these ones you just rip out the insert trays.

I picked this from other topic. More choices.

Do you think this would work?

http://www.alina.se/Produkt.aspx?site=pricerunner&T2=DVD-56

It's supposed to be twice as wide as a regular DVD case, and has room for 6 discs. It is quite pricy though, so I dunno.

thats what I use, and they work fine, smaller carts tend to swim in them, like Genesis/MD
