Once you release it, I'll get a Photoshop trial. ;)
You based it off of Stardog's Wii template, right?
Agahnim looks awesome. He should stay.

Dante_Ali, I really like your approach. It's just me but I think that would be the perfect template. Can't wait for the final .psd file. But take your time if you think it needs more tweaking. Could you make another template with the same design but for a thinpak to make things easier for someone who lacks the proper Photoshop skills.

Doom, instead of getting a Photoshop trial I'll I'd get GIMP. It's a freeware program that is on par with Photoshop as far as image editing and creating is concerned and also compatible with Photoshop files (>> PSD).

Here's some info

Here's the official GIMP homepage

Snowcone, with custom covers, a VC section might be needed. I hope this doesn't turn in to Dreamcast or PS1 with no clear template.
KaiserWAVE, I tried GIMP. But the stupid in me couldn't figure out how to install it.  ::) I'll give it another shot.
Edit: Now I have GIMP. It's OK, I guess.

They will be!! I think he was referring to the situation at hand where all the covers that have been created so far have lots of different designs instead of one definite template to rule them all :)

KaiserWave: Alright, I'll make a Thinpak version too.

UncleBob: The reason the controllers are sideways is because they take up too much space when laid out horizontally. The only solution would be to reduce the size of the icons or edit the top somewhat so it can accomodate more icons.

Here are the latest versions...

As you can see, the information bar at the bottom has been reduced in height. This is now as simple as turning on a layer group - you can switch between the big information bar and the smaller one that you see here. Switching between US and Japanese versions is also just a mouse click removed. All things considered, as long as you stick to my layer layout, you will be cranking out these covers in no time.

I also added numbers to the GameCube and Classic Controller icons (a nice idea 'borrowed' from someone 's GameCube template whose name escapes me right now).

Not shown in these latest screenshots are the Super Famicom logos for Japanese covers - (finally found it on http://www.brandsoftheworld.com)

No promises if the PSD will work flawlessly in Gimp - I have read that Photoshop CS2 recently added layer group nesting, so that might be one feature that the Gimp currently lacks, and unfortunately I use layer groups practically everywhere. I will try it out in The Gimp before publishing it, but I will not delay it if it doesn't work 100% correctly.

Am I "that one guy"?
Using my template, it's really easy to make your own.

In the US cover on the upper back...that's not the US SNES system.  Not the one we all know and love anyway.  Other than that, it looks flawless.  I'd like a version without whats-his-face on the front however.

OK, look at the updated pictures from the previous post and tell me what you think. I added a blue hue to the US SNES system on the upper back - if you dislike it, let me know.

BTW, since I based my template off Stardog's, the dimensions of my covers are 3240x2175. However, I keep seeing other Wii covers that are 3225x2156. So, which one is correct?
