Yup, it's looking really good. Do you plan to make a template for others to work with?

Template for others to work with?

Nope, gonna hog it for myself!!!  >:(

Seriously though, Of course I will supply a template.  I think thats the key to this site.  We just need to get a decent templates section up and running (as I am aware you are trying to do) that doesn't allow many to pollute the threads areas with commentary such as happens (naturally) in a thread environment.  Comments are great, nut the templates thread then becomes a difficult resource to navigate. Also, I need for someone to see if the pdd i create through gimpshop will open OK in photoshop.  One important issue is font types.  If we are providing templates, we also need to provide the postscript files for the fonts also, or the templates wont work.

I will upload the pdd and link into the templates thread on the weekend (it needs more work of course.  Maybe adding esrb, the remaining australian ratings logos, and EU ratings as well...that type of thing). As I said above though, thats messy.  I wish there was a better way (and I am sure you, snowcone, and others are working on it).

I looked at my original SFII cd case disk.  The original 3DO art for this game is so horrible that I used very little of it to create this custom case (just the screen shots and red guy on the rear, as well as the rear logo).  Well, two down, only 40 of my 3DO games to go. I might need to enlist the help of tiktektak and Dante_Ali who also have a couple of 3DO games.

Awesome cover. I'd be more than willing to help - you could dump most of them as raws and provide the template.

As for my own covers, I'm probably going to do a retail cover of Gex and a custom one. (preferably using this template) I like having the choice between a retail cover and a custom one.

I'm also looking into buying some more 3DO games - several online shops in my country offer an assortment of 3DO games from all three region. I might drop you a PM with a list of games that I can buy, and you could point out which ones are the most interesting.

Yup, I agree.  I'll upload all of my originals at the same time as I upload the DVD customs.  Expect the orginals for SSF2T and Starblade on the weekend.

Dante_Ali - I will get you the template ASAP but I need to finish some aspects of it (may need to use rapidshare to get it to you).  I actually need Gex as its one game that I only received a photocopied sleeve for (over half my games came like this...ex video store rental lot...my 3DO is third hand, from video store, to owner, and then to me through ebay).

This might be nit-picking, but I spot Sakura and blue-suit Cammy on the back.  Not SF2.  I'm also pretty sure that's all CvS2 artwork.  Might wanna try some actual SF2 artwork.

I could set up a guest user account on my FTP server. Speed should be pretty good as it's hosted on Dreamhost. I'll let you know more.

WHO ELSE WOULD KNOW THAT!

Yup.  Nit-picking.

Sakura first appeared in SFA2, but there's no doubt she and Ryu were still friends at the time of SSF2T.  In fact they where shacked up together and had to keep their relationship a secret because of her age.  The rear of this cover was taken at the SSF2T company picnic where ryu bought Sakura with him.  Cammy's green one piece was at the cleaners (getting the blood washed off) and she had to wear her new blue one which she was planning on saving for SFZ3.

OK!

Goes to show I don't know the Street Fighter backstory well enough: she was initially supposed to be Ryu's younger sister though, and after that Makoto was in the running. In the end, neither received the prestigious honor of being Ryu's sister.

You're treading on thin ice there... Sakura is Ryu's younger sister :)

And it also gave the hentai artists some more fodder as I think they had already run out of ideas for Chun-li and Cammy.

I'm also pretty sure that's all CvS2 artwork.

I'm pretty confident that theres no SNK characters there.

I'm think the artwork on the front is from the SFA anime or the SF series. I'm pretty sure it's no SNK artwork because that would look a hell of a lot better :D Neither do I think it's CvS2 artwork because it looks a bit dated. Whatever it is, it looks good.

Actually, the front cover is pure and original SFII *before the super and turbo*.

It just happens however, to be ripped from a DVD cover of the anime (you got me).

OK, I've confessed all.  I hereby promise that I will never do another custom cover that isn't 100% accurate to the satisfaction of everyone and anyone.  No more blue cammy's, not little girls in sailor moon suits that can kick ryu's but, and no more anime when I could use blocky characters from the game or the traditional Chun-Li kicks Blanka cover that graced all the other consoles and the PC version.

I think I need to show you just how ugly the original cover was.  Then you might be more forgiving.

Sheesh!   ;)

Edit: I warned you all.  Now heres the original. YUK!

Edit again:  I see my posting count just clicked over 250.  Now I am a snr member.  Ooh I do feel old.  only 23 more posts SMMM and you too can reach retirement age.  (I'm having one on my flippant nights).

Hell, my custom Resident Evil cover uses a Silent Hill background of all things. How's that for being 100% inaccurate to its source material?

I like the artwork. Looks somewhat old-school. If it looks good you might even draw it yourself for Pete's sake :D I was just posting because we were wondering where the artwork might actually be from.
