I see you're making European covers...  Sorry man, mine are all retail USA.  Guess they would not help you.

The lion king one is hosted on this site my version was just altered slightly.

And art work for the ninja gaidan one came from this site.

I did try to submit the Shinodi 2 one but you cant select Shinodi 2 under the game options. Oh well,  cover adim are way to picky unless you know one of them personalty. Your cover wont make the grade.

Select closest match.

If quality is high enough anyones cover can pass. Sadly often new timers tend to upload stuff which is less then stellar.

People don't grasp what high quality means on our site!

How do you check quality?

and some that are hosted have poor quality how did these get approved with the high standards?

Was there a time when standards weren't so high?

Do not get me wrong I am all for high standards but in my opinion. It is really frustrating when you are trying to cover your collection and there are several gaps in the covers you have for games.

So as a noob I started making them from scratch. Only to realize that there is a second place to get covers form individuals who post in the forum. and Thanks to Arseen who must have a card Rolodex on who made what.  And some off theses I cant tell for the darnedest why they aren't hosted here.

It seems low quality vs not having a cover, it would be best to take it until someone made a better one.

Cover is 300 DPI, art used to make the cover is atleast 300 DP. no dirt, no creases, no dust, no typos, correct serial number, correct production number, correct barcode, cover matches to exsisting covers...

and some that are hosted have poor quality how did these get approved with the high standards?

Yes

That's why I host "shadow cover project, at the moment 1/3 organized for Vertical SNES US covers
Until it's ready I link to requested covers if I / we have it.
I also list covers that will never make to the4 site for eithe being just too low quality (I too have standadrts but they are bit less strickt) or for repro games.

If low quality or near perfect covers would be accepted to the site, no-one would bother to strive for perfect.

Its good the see it all laid out.  Its hard to shoot for perfection when you dont know what someones option of it is. and every ones opinion is different.  also I hate when the barcode doesnt match the game.  That just seems lazy when there are lots of barcode generating sites.

Isnt having the "cover matches to exsisting covers" part defeat the whole purpose of making a custom cover? I think that should not be grounds for dismissal.

Any who I dont make covers to be hosted here.  I make them for myself and sometimes if someone asks me to.  And in that case I try to make a cover to best please them. Based on what source art I can find.

I dont think that would be the case, as most peoples main goal when coming here is to make there game collections look good.

I mean that if you make cover using let's say Vertical SNEs template, you don't change the gray bars to pink on the back.
Or strech the front image to cover the whole front.

Okay, Yeah I agree with that one.  Snes, and 64 I like how there is a set template that everyone follows. For systems like Game Gear the covers are all over the place.

Those probably from the time before the hiqher quality standards were put in effect.

And if you want to see really horrible quality, check the older GB covers.
Hopefully they will be replacedsoon, but we need quality scans to redo them.
