Dammit I'm gonna have to spend twice as much per cover now to print

these inserts really look nice. We need some generics for SNES and N64.

Those look really nice Gill35! I'm definitely going to have to print some of those out now.

I wouldn't get inserts professionally printed myself, at least not on nicer paper, since the semi-opaque plastic of the UGC really hides any defects on them. I'm happy just printing the inserts on my inkjet printer at home.

Whoa this is a cool idea.  Though I think it might be easier to just print these things double-sided so that they print on the back of the insert (instead of having to print and cut out 2 pages).

Yeah I tried that, but since I have to use regular legal paper, both images bled through enough that it was a problem. Maybe if one used some kind of thicker legal paper it could work.

Cool! Well if you do end up printing some out for your collection let me know how they turn out.

I tossed together a couple of Black Grid style inserts using BadChad's Genesis template. I haven't done any test prints, but they should look okay.

Also, I have a bit of a request. I thought an idea for a Knuckles Chaotix insert. In the manuals and on the back of the Japanese Chaotix box there is a computer generated picture of an island. This picture, actually:

I would love to turn this picture into an insert. I actually took this screenshot from a Knuckles Chaotix beta rom, and as such, it's a pretty small resolution (320x224), and looks terrible when blown to UGC proportions. I've dicked around in photoshop myself to try and turn this into a presentable and printable insert, but I'm a photoshop newb and my results were... well, ugly. Would anyone like to help me out with this?

The art was used on the back of the Jap release.

Uploaded 7 Godzilla-themed inlays for the NES games, Super Godzilla, Destroy All Monsters/Kaijuu Daikessen, or whatever you want to use them for.

Having added inlays to about half of my games now, I really can't go back!

I'm seriously think of doing this now.  I've been playing a lot of SNES lately and opening those UGCs is sort of a bummer.  I spend forever on the outsides, then open 'em up to a blank white backdrop :(

Does this work better with 2 sheets of paper or double-sided on one?  I have a feeling it would bleed through on all but the thickest paper.

Just use 2-sided paper. It's designed to do just this, so bleeding shouldn't be an issue.
