Hey guys, I have a strange request.  I just got a Tototek Sega Master System converter for Genesis which you can find here: http://www.tototek.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_6_12&products_id=74

So, what I am requesting is a custom label (as the cart has no label on it) and a cover that will fit in a larger style EA Sega game case (Like most sports games and the "Strike" games).

Cover dimensions
Width: 10 3/4 inches
Height: 6 3/4 inches

Cart Label dimensions
Width: 3 3/16 inches
Height: 2 13/16 inches (wrapped around the top)

as far as the design, I am open to anything, but I did have a few ideas:
1) I think it might be cool to use the black "checkerboard" style background as that is what the original box for the Power Base Converter used.
2) Use the Tototek logo in the design
3) Use some of the Master System's better known characters/games in the design
4) Use images / info from the Power Base Converter box in the design.

This is really the only scan of the Power Base Converter box I can find (maybe someone on the site has scans?): http://www.rfgeneration.com/PHP/gethwinfo.php?ID=U-040-H-00300-A;image=bf
and while not a scan, a nice big image of the box: http://shop.gametrog.com/images/power%20base.jpg

Anyway, I think this would be a cool project and would greatly appreciate it!

The box says, "Play Sega Power Base games on you Sega Genesis.." hehe.. was the Master System ever reffered to as Power Base? I wonder why they called itvthe Power Base Convertor?

I actually did something like this for that adapter using the Master System template:

That looks great!  I would like a download link too!

Any chance you could do a cart label? Maybe stick with the Master System theme and use a Master System cart label as the basis (Reddish Brown) but make it Genesis cart label size?

The original Sega-brand adapter is huge though! Almost as big as the Genesis itself. I don't think any type of case will hold it.

True I keep mine in the original box, but for the adapter Bear78 linked to, it's a perfect case fit using the original boxart from the Power Base Convertor :)

Awesome!  Thats exactly what I was talking about!  Thanks so much man!

Just FYI, the converter works great on my Genesis 2 system.  It plays US, PAL, and JAP Master System games and has a pause button on it.  The only downsides is it will not play the card games (but most of those were released on carts anyway) and it wont work though a 32X.  Besides that, its awesome and a great way to play Master System games on a Genesis 2.

Also, because of the Japanese adapter that is on the back of it, it will not fit into a standard Genesis case.  I am going to try to mod a larger style EA case for it.

The link you provided is a bit confusing:

"PCB fit original Genesis/MegaDrive 16Bits cartridge, easy to modify original cartridge case to fit it."

Does that mean they just give you a naked PCB and you have to take apart a Genesis game cartridge and cut a hole in the top?

Also, can we get the cover for Genesis (as opposed to Master System, which the current white version is), in the black grid style?

I was thinking of asking the same, but blue Mega Drive clamshell version.
But then someone would probably want UGC version of it.
Then Red Genesis versions
And black Mega Drive versions (OK this would be easy to do from Black Genesis version).
And labels for these versions.

So even risking the avalance: Would you do Blue Mega Drive version  and black megadrive grid (clamshell size) and matching label?

Um, I think you quoted the wrong part of my post? Or are you saying that they do send out a bare PCB as well?

Something I just noticed, you have "Converter" spelled "Convertor" on the label and cover.  Also, you have "Peripheral" spelled "Peripheal" on the cover.

Mine came with a cart already.  It came exactly as it looks in the picture.  I did not have to open a cart or cut anything, it was ready to work out of the package.

I was set on the black checkerboard look until I saw the Master System style box.  I think it will look nice along side my other Master System game cases.  But I am always open to other designs if someone wants to work on them.  I still think it would be cool to throw the Tototek logo on the cover / label somewhere.
