One quick question about n64 manuals?

Is there a difference between the NTSC and PAL manuals? I have almost all of the manuals for my n64 games and would help scan and upload them maybe in December.

I'd be willing to bet that at least the artwork is different.

A lot are different in that they approximate the artwork of the box. However, Nintendo's own games generally are identical as they used standardised yellow covers and didn't have additional languages. Same for Lucasarts Star Wars games ... no real differences there either. the main differences are that the EUR region manuals often include Spanish, German, Swahili [OK ..not Swahili but you get what I mean] and those that I have scanned from that region I have used the English language ONLY.

It would be great to get more manuals. I still have approx 50 scanned and in the process of converting. Hopefully by the time you get home I'll have them online so we'll have almost 1/3rd done already. I do a fair amount of working etc on them so all mine are a standardised size etc. It would be good for anyone scanning theirs to either let me do it or work to my criteria so we have a consistent level if at all possible. But that's just my humble opinion....

BTW .... great to see you on the new site 4tygames. Sorry about the delay getting tetrisphere converted ... I know you wanted it a while ago but things went out of control there for a while.

I have just uploaded Aerofighters Assault and Blast Corps manuals to the FTP so I guess Snowcone will make them available as soon as he can.

I bet 4tygames will be interested in the Aerofighters manual  ;D

wshbrngr has also offered to scan manuals too. At this stage hold off until I finish off my lot .... some 20 odd manuals ... and I'll update the n64 list so everyone can see what we've got vs not. I have a couple of not too common manuals as well still to be scanned .... Penny Racers etc

At that point I'll be happy to take raw scans and create a pdf out of them .... assuming you're happy scanning at 300dpi and dumping up to 20mb's worth per manual onto the raw scan FTP.

wshbrngr may end up sending me a CD though ..... lots of manuals makes for a bucketload of uploads. Sometimes it's just plain easier to send a disc eh!!!  :P

UPDATE: Just uploaded manuals for Quake 2 , SF Rush 2049 , SF Rush Extreme Racing & Turok Dinosaur Hunter to the FTP site for a total of 14 new manuals for anyone who needs them. Enjoy!!!!

UPDATE 2. Another 3 manuals .... NFL Quarterback Club 99 & 2000 & Pilot Wings 64 have been uploaded. Man I need some sleep ......

I will scan all my manuals when I ever get home to my scanner.
It appears I will be visiting my scanner again sometime after the 15th of this month, I should be able to get scanning and then begin uploading sometime after Christmas. Valeman has a LOT more N64 manuals than I have, so that should not take too long. (oh, and the cart labels, too)

The big project for me will be the PS1 (huh? whats that?) manuals/coverart I have.
And, if we start an NES manual/cover project.....  that is another matter all together  ;D

Another manual uploaded today .... Legend of Zelda - Ocarina of Time. You may notice the page numbers appear cropped .... this wasn't me ... the original manual is like that. Hmmm .... Big N stuff up?

Just uploaded wshbrngr's manual for Mortal Kombat Trilogy. Little beat up but still better than nothing until a mint version turns up....

Hey, I take no responsibility for the condition of the manual..... that's the way I got it.   ;D

(Besides, it appears to have been designed to look a little beat up)

Good job, as per usual.   two thumbs up.

Great job man. You should ask Snowcone if there is room for a "manual guru" badge *ROFL*
