Hello All,

Hopefully this topic doesn't annoy anyone too much, but...

I was wondering if the fine folks at this forum would be willing to offer some of their expertise in suggesting which game I should look for.

You see, I have a cabinet that houses my Sega Genesis collection.  It's nearly full, but has space enough for one to three new games to be added.  Feel free to call me crazy, but the open space kind bugs me a bit, so I'm looking at adding that last game or three before I start hunting down some Atari or NES.

Here's what I do already have...

Aladdin
Altered Beast
Ariel The Little Mermaid
Batman
Batman Returns
Beauty And The Beast: Belle's Quest
Beauty And The Beast: Roar Of The Beast
Beavis And Butt-Head
Bram Stoker's Dracula
Comix Zone
Cyborg Justice
DecapAttack
Demolition Man
Dinosaurs For Hire
Ecco The Dolphin
Ecco: The Tides Of Time
Flashback: The Quest For Identity
The Flintstones
Garfiled: Caught In The Act
Ghostbusters
Indiana Jones And The Last Crusade
Instruments Of Chaos Starring Young Indiana Jones
Jeopardy
The Jungle Book
Jurassic Park
Jurassic Park: Rampage Edition
The Lion King
The Lost World: Jurassic Park
Maximum Carnage
Monopoly
NBA Jam: Tournament Edition
PGA European Tour
Pocahontas
Primal Rage
Shinobi III
Skeleton Krew
Sonic & Knuckles
Sonic 3D Blast
Sonic The Hedgehog
Sonic The Hedgehog 2
Sonic The Hedgehog 3
Sonic The Hedgehog: Spinball
Spider-Man
Super Baseball 2020
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Hyperstone Heist
Toy Story
Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3
Wheel Of Fortune
Wolverine: Adamantium Rage
X-Men
X-Men 2: Clone Wars
Zombies Ate My Neighbors

I'm not much into fighting or role playing games.  Aside from that, I'm open to any suggestions.  All the games I do have now are complete with hard-shell cases and instruction manuals, so I definitely want to keep the same in any new game(s) I add.  I was kind of thinking of a flight sim, but I have no idea what ones are good or bad to get.  Otherwise, just something that's fun and wouldn't cost an arm and a leg to hunt down in good condition.

All suggestions are welcome and appreciated.

Golden Axe is classic that should be in every collection.

Soleil (or Crusader of Centy in USA) is nice adventure game.

And maybe Mega Man: Wily Wars. (euro manual + Euro original or Repro US cart).

Earthworm Jim 1 and 2 are what I think of off the top of my head. Unfortunately I was more of a Nintendo boy. Toejam and Earl also comes to mind.

Off the top of my head, the games that got/get the most play for me are:
The thunder force games (especially 4),
streets of rage (even if you are not into fighters this is fun),
afterburner 2,
castle of illusion,
rolo to the rescue,
micro machines,
super Monaco gp 2,
turrican,
NHL hockey 94,
 lotus turbo challenge,
 battle squadron,
rocket knight adventures,
mega lo mania,
bubsy,
power drive
Desert/jungle/urban strike

And if you don't have a master system, get the master system convertor, even if it's just for Alex kid in miracle world

I'm kind of surprised that no one mentioned an absolute gem of a game, Gunstar Heroes.  That is definitely one of the best Sega Genesis games I've ever played.  I agree with BadChad, get Vectorman; it's a flawless game.  Two more I should mention are Thunderforce 3 and 4.

Thank You All for the awesome suggestions...  I will definitely be researching these games a bit more.  Seems like I might have to get myself a bigger cabinet.  LOL.

I would suggest EA's Gem Starflight, ToeJam & Earl ( the First one ) , and The Haunting.
All three very fun and different games.

Thank You...  That one is most definitely going on my list.  Had it back in the day and couldn't remeber the name of it.  As soon as I saw your suggestion and looked it up a wave of awesome nostalgia came over me.

I think Vectorman could be added too...

Is Vectorman 2 worth getting at all?

I've tried Vectorman 2 before, and I'm not very fond of the game unfortunately.  The game's mechanics and engine are the same, but where it fails is that the screen is far too dark when playing the game so you can't see very well and everything is based off of weird organisms instead of brute mechanoids.

Thanks.  Tis good to know.  I was just reading up on it after my last post and that seems to be the majority of quality reviews...  mostly a good game, but nowhere near the original.

Looks like I should be able to get Vectorman for around the $10 mark complete.  Even seen a few that were brand new.  Still researching all the suggestions, but The Haunting Starring Polterguy is a must buy for me.  Vectorman and Alisa Dragoon are serious contenters as well.  Should have time to research the others tomorrow.

I did not have a Genesis when I was a teenager. I now know that SNES and Genesis have alot of games in common but of the ones peculiar to the Genesis then, I like the following:

Risk, Pocahontas (you already have it listed), Castle of Illusion, Smurfs (not available for SNES USA), Speedy Gonzales Cheeze Cat-astrophe, Daze Before Christmas, Ecco (already listed), and Mario Lemieux Hockey (not a good game but I'm a fan of Mario and the Pens.)

hopefully you will scan some boxes and labels in the future. I am salivating when looking at your list.

very nice collection. Have a pleasant day/night ...
