I like it but something is off, can't quite put my finger on it. It's like it's too retail to be custom but also too custom to be retail at the same time if that makes since at all.

I get what you mean. Its very commercial. Like a poster you might see when going into a shop to buy it, but I do like it. I even like the purple, not sure if I'd like it on anything else, but on Majora's Mask, its awesome!
