Anyone know what the numbers on the box-flaps signify? sample showing number 3 [image derived from the box of Aero the Acrobat EUR]: not the game-pak id code. I already know what each group of letters mean. I'm referring to the number near the pak-id. vide supra number 3. I have noticed a number on the flaps of SNES scans and my wife noticed numbers on the GameBoy Advance flaps. I thought that maybe the numbers represent regions, year-of-release or genre but I've looked into it and I do not see a pattern. Perhaps they signify box-dimensions/design or printing region/department or printing personnel? Also, anyone know of a list that identifies which graphics modes are used with SNES gamepaks? id est, Hyperzone utilizes mode 7. at this point, anything is possible. well I think that I have eliminated year-of-release and genre as I have compared a few and there is not a matching pattern. Usually, companies try to identify persons or departments or equipment so it could be printing press/department. Regional data does not seem possible by comparison. |

I've seen a question like this before, not sure if it was pretaning to that number in specific but it was confirmed that usually those numbers identify the factory which printed the box. |

I think that the printing is the answer so I agree. I had noticed the numbers while cleaning covers. I became curious about the meaning of the numbers. I thought that maybe the numbers can be used to identify game pak regions or dates but nothing is matching. I suppose that we should consider the thread closed. Printing it is ;D |
