That makes Gold and Sapphire that are dead. Crystal is still kicking.

I went to check how many rocket launches there were on Sapphire (You get one rocket launch per week since you started your file. I got my game at US launch.) when I was met with the message "The internal battery has run dry. The game can be played. However, clock-based events will no longer occur."

Now when I talk to the rocket guy he just says "The rocket launch is imminent" instead of his usual "The rocket launched successfully! That's successful launch XXX". Now I won't get to see how many weeks it has been since March 19, 2003. :(

Gone already probably, unless there is minimally energy in the battery.
Does the game save still work?

Gamesave should still work but like it says, time events wont.

So he would have to change the battery with a bypass energy source to not loose everything.

Could be a bit tricky but manageable!

If battery is already dead, how replacing it would do any more harm?
And how does Sapphire save game data? Though it was battery aswell, so how is the save data is still there if battery is dead?

Could be that it saves on flashrom. Or the battery is not dead but low on power so everything could be saved.

Technology my good friend. From my understanding none of the gba versions of the game and crystal require the battery to save.

Good! I hoped that.
So Save data is safe for my games aswell. What a relief.

Correct. My saved data is still there. I just can't, according to a post on Gamefaqs,

Berries stop growing
No more Daily/weekly giveaway of Berries /TMs
No more Secret Base Battles
No More Lilycove Lottery
No More random TV Events
Eevee Happyvolutions locked into Espeon or Umbreon cannot get both
Shoal cave is locked in High or Low Tide meaning you cannot get Shell Bells, and if at high you cannot get Snorunt or the items in the Basement level

Plus the rocket launch count.

Really the only reason I hadn't restarted my file was because I wanted the launch number to get as high as possible. I guess now I can restart to get a bunch of Jirachi.
