Nintendo want's to rip people off lowering a system that will probably be extinct soon. Why buy a System that's probably going to meet the same fate as the Virtual Boy? I've learned these VG companies tricks and I won't fall for them.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say you're a fanboy, haha. How do you figure the system will have the same fate as the Virtual Boy?!? It already has more games than the VB and has actually sold more systems than the DS first did from it's launch. Some systems don't become immensely popular right out of the gate. I think the price drop all make sales explode. Especially when you consider it's following in the popularity of the DS. This holiday parents will most definately choose it over the Vita at $80 cheaper and wider availability too. It all comes down to games and there will be a plethora of great games out by the end of this holiday season.

what

Why the heck will it "go extinct soon"? It has, as opposed to the VB, good 3D and good games (though it didn't have many at launch), and therefore, is selling . I don't see how they're ripping you off by lowering the price, or how it is a "trick". Sure, they do it in order to make more money, but all companies have to make money, so... I don't see your point? Feel free to elaborate and prove me wrong, if you feel like it.

Ok this system had cruddy games at Launch A Mario Game Or Kid Icarus should of been released instead of Street Fighter 4  which is probably the same as the 360 one but in 3D. Ocarina of Time wasn't a best seller where I live, They still had lots of copies left after the release date. Some guy in Japan said Nintendo stole their 3D technology That is a Bunch of Crap That 3D effect is originally taken from The Fisher Price Viewmaster It's the same effect as the 3DS. Here's the link to the article http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/View-Master.

There are so many things that either make no sense or have nothing to do with sales figures or the longevity of the system. I don't even know where to start ... actually I'm just going to let this one rest  ::)

It's not really an insult when you quote something from wikipedia... you do know that the whole renaissance section was written by a 12 year old?  Yeah... and I'm sure this is some persons fanboy attitude towards a new system that they didn't want to fork out some money for.

I own the Gameboy, Gameboy Color, Gameboy Advance, Gameboy Advance SP, and that is it.  I missed out on the Micro, the Nintendo DS, DS-lite, DS-phat, and 3DS (and soon to be 3DS Cheepz).  People don't want to buy a system that has not a lot of games seeing that the people who play the Nintendo DS are mainly preteens under the age of 12.  Could you fork out $200+ by the age of 12?.  I don't think so.  The reason that the 3DS hasn't exactly "went off like fireworks" is because the parents don't want to shell out more money on their greedy ass children.  Why buy a new system, when your old system runs perfectly fine?  That's how parents feel.

The Nintendo 3DS is not going to be "quote unquote" "RARE" like the "Virtual Boy" as there are already more than 8 games on the market and $300 back then is more like $1,500 today.  The price drop will bring in a crowd of people that have been "wanting" the system, but waiting for a price drop.  You would be surprised (and I am sure Shenske can vouch for this aswell working in retail) how crazy people go when a game goes from $9.99 to $7.99.  Suddenly... the game is gone, and all it was was a $2 price drop.  Nintendo just wants more money... if more people buy their systems, more money comes in from the sales of all the games sold.  Parents will buy the cheaper system as they will justify it as "it's about time this thing is cheaper".  Do you even know how hard it is to get a job lately?  Jesus, price of eggs is now $1.18, people don't want to rebuy something that already works perfectly and have their already working piece of hardware (the Nintendo DS) thrown on the shelf and be seen as a waste of $200+

That and LOL with the pricematch!! Good call dude!!! Will totally do it!!

Yeah I agree - nothing worth playing......  Apart from one of the biggest selling snes and n64 franchises and one of the most eagerly awaited installments for about 10 years (pilot wings), installments from some of the biggest selling racing, soccer and American football franchises, 3d version of capcoms current gen fighting game that's not even mentioning Rayman, the sims, Bust a move, nintendogs, Lego star wars........

Whether you like these games or not, this has to have been one of the strongest launch title line ups in history.  On no, no mario. Boo hoo. Get a grip.  And no I don't have a 3ds - but I do plan on getting one.  This system will fly off the shelves this Christmas, even without a price drop.  Most people don't have the Disposable income to upgrade a system when it's not a birthday/Christmas etc.  I think santa's sack is going to be over flowing with 3ds systems this year - I just hope his little elves can make them fast enough.

I really didn't mean I hate it or can't afford it Ok! This is Why I don't care for this system
1. The games aren't enjoyable I'm talking about puzzles looking for keys and leveling up to defeat bosses
2. when I see this type of 3D I get headaches
3. Way too many remakes it would be nice to see Castlevania 64 redone in 3D with new graphics though.
4. Capcom cancelled MegaMan Legends 3.
Here's the article why the price was dropped

Re:

1.  Ok, your opinion. You may not share the same opinion as the mass market though. It is impossible for a system or a game to 100% appeal to everyone. Games are made to accommodate what most people want, especially during the launch period.
2.  That is unfortunate that you are part of the minority that is suffering from headaches or ailments when playing. Solution: turn off the 3D
3.  What is wrong with remakes? If the remake is done well and is not shoveleare I see no problem. Fans have been asking for years to remake X game for Y system so they can enjoy the games they once played updated for modern systems. The fans are as much to "blame" for remakes.
4. Games get cancelled all the time and it sucks
4a.  Biased article
