I think he used Photoshop (which I don't have).
And simply chose add shadow option when adding text.
So want me to USAfy it and empty. I have empty US template image that I can use to cover the German text.

Okay on to my 64 games :)
It looks like i am going to have to make vertical covers for:
Quest 64
Castlevania (64) all though the pal cover looks pretty cool
Cruis'n USA
3 covers, thats not to bad
