Hey there guys. Torn between using Cassette cases or 20mm short dvd cases for my Gameboy / Gameboy Color games. Finding it too hard to track down DS cases and don't have the time to be modding. I found a website here in Oz that sells 20mm short dvd cases:

Just not sure if 20mm is wide enough with the gameboy game in its plastic case. Has anyone tried this or have suggestions? Thanks!

20mm is plenty wide enough. Standard US DS cases are 14mm. Modding DS cases is probably the easiest case mod to do btw, only takes about 30sec to 1min per case.

Tried getting DS cases off Nntendo Australia but they don't sell / manufacture the cases here.  Have also tried google for them here in Australia, but unfortunately I seem to keep getting the the small card cases, or the protective cases for the actual ds.

Are they the same height as DS cases? You could probably use these for odd carts such as GB rumble paks or for thicker cases, Wario Were Twisted and GB camera.

Not much thinker ( or taller ) than standard ds cases here in Oz which is why I was thinking these particular half dvd cases might be an alternative to using ds cases. I love the cassette case idea but I hate not having the back cover artwork / game info. I measured my pokemon pinball and perfect dark rumble pak games and both are around 17mm so fingers crossed they should fit in a 20mm half dvd case with no problems, but if someone could confirm that'd be great.

If supply for cassette tape cases are your concern, hell go to a garage sale and ask someone if you can have ALL of their cassette tape cases for $1.  99.9% of the time they will say yes!
