I don't know about that. My prediction is that won't happen for another ten years beyond your prediction. 15-20 years from now seems more realistic to me. Working at a Gamestop in a low income area for the last 6months has really opened my eyes to how many people still don't even have the Internet let alone high speed Internet. I don't think the "Big Three" would rush into digital only distribution so quickly and lose out on a huge revenue stream. Plus the PSP Go's experiment with that failed miserably.

Back on topic: Eco cases do bother the hell out of me for the most part but the 3DS ones don't. The holes are spaced far enough apart that the case isnt flimsy. The holes are also not in areas that would damage the cart that it is holding. The Eco cases for DVD games and movies are the ones that drive me up the wall. Who's great idea was it to make the holes in the cases directly under the bottom of the disc? Plus those damn cases have a flaw in the middle piece that holds the disc in place. If you don't properly take out your disc with care the disc will actually start to crack from the inside out. I get people trying to return their cracked discs everyday but there isn't a thing I can do ... the only thing I can offer them is showing them how to properly take the disc out of the case. No one actually listens though :(
