no reason.  I know the new members won't care, however to the rest of you I wish you the best of luck.  I really appreciate everything you have done and I apologize I could not (and probably will not now) upload my raw scans I have been slaving away over my scanner with for the past month.

@ Shenske, got your package in the mail.  Controller works great!
@ SonicAdvDX, never got your package...
@ Everyone else, best wishes

If you slaved over your scanner, wouldnt it be wise to upload them before you leave so you didnt waste all that time?

I'm sorry things took such a negative turn and escalated so quickly.  I've always appreciated the RAWS you have provided and all the support you've had with my ideas i share on the site. I hope the best for you and hope you return to the site someday.  If you're ever in the Colorado area let me know and we'll grab some Chipotle or something. Best wishes buddy  :)

... the ignorant messages I have been receiving lately from members / a member that privately PM'd me stating how much of a "dick" I am to members in this community.  I would personally like to thank him for lessening my time on this community as my room looks like crap and it has been for a month.  It has been an exhausting month (scanned every PS1 game inside my 4 boxes below [front][back][inlay]*each*).

Quote
why the hell are you so fucking negative on all of your posts. either you are negative or you are spamming pages with 'banana' wich is extremely annoying. i personally wanted to thank you for leaving as it wont be such a bother reading such negative remarks from a dick like yourself. i wish you the best 'sir' and have a great fucking life. loser.

So instead of replying back to this 'one' member or the rash of others (not many, 3 tops), I want to personally apologize for any agitations I have caused.  Honestly I am sad leaving as with the "new member's to download" program has brought many unthankful people to the community, I can't help but be a little sour repeating seven thousand times "please upload your pictures to mediafire instead of imageshack" or "your quality on those covers are sub par".  Those are mainly the only comments other than captain fragile hands (hope you love the 720p instructional video and the subliminal message back to the rather harsh "PM'er").

I, like other senior members here have spent... thousands of dollars trying to keep up a nice collection.  That is what what a few select of us do, spend thousands, then scan (out of generosity) the covers we bought.  These scans are no where out of "bragging rights" that we own the game, but more on the lines as "wahoo I have a cover the site doesn't have yet!" (atleast that is how I feel 95% of the time).  I honestly have not been able to sleep in my bed for over a month as I have completely trashed my room for this website, and all I get in return is PM's stating I am a dick; oh if you only knew...  Unlike a majority of the new members who are only missing a few covers, people like me are missing a XX amount of CD case covers, XX amount DVD covers, XXX amount SNES/Genesis/NES/N64 covers.

While we have a handful of people whom are photoshop experts (bows down), they cannot do anything with out a source of a cover; a RAW scan of the box itself in 300+ DPI.  If non of you have ever scanned a picture before... well let me tell you, it is extremely time consuming, let alone scanning / thinking about scanning 400+ PS1 games, 100+ N64 cases, and 500+ PS2 / Xbox games.  You do realize that Akrate69 is not a machine right?  He has slowed down lately (last I knew) from scanning covers, but boy do I envy how fast he can do it.  Between a job, getting into another college for a masters degree, helping the family business on the weekend, relationships, and then spare time is dedicated to this site only to have nearly every new member (seems like) hating me, I feel so loved and completely gracious to upload my scans that people need (sorry Arseen, a shit load of scans were going your way).

I understand for every 1 positive comment on the internet there is 20 negative comments, but seriously, I seem to always get the short straw on everything.  I don't pick fights, I just tell it how it is.  If a cover is poor quality, I am sorry, read the faq's.  If you want to create a reproduction cover, that's fine, we can't host it.  If you need help cutting an NES case so that your hands don't hurt, I'll upload a HD video onto Youtube in 720p so that you can buy the appropriate tool to save you hours of work.

Funny thing is... I guess I am the asshole here.  Wasting my time to provide a service for this community so that new members can leech whatever the Hell they feel like and treat older members who have been here for a couple of years like crap.

There, to those who read that fully, thank you, I appreciate it.  To those who have skipped everything and stared at the pictures, I can finally clean up my room without stating "Oh! Someone just requested that!".  Everything going back into the closet or out to the shed (thank God it is raining so I don't have to take pictures of the mess out there!).

Games, covers, manuals, promotional items, trinkets, accessories, systems, you name it, I probably have it.  Waste of my time explaining myself, however maybe more "new members" are more sympathetic than "brosb4403s" and "Damm92" (no offense, but took it as an insult)

There are instruction books under my bed, manuals behind games in 1/3 closets, hundred dollar bills on the floor that I have just noticed (wtf lol... I really have been out of it lately to leave THOSE there).  I'm just tired of all this slaving around and then to be called an ass and a dick within a few days of each other (let alone the other messages I have received).  If you can't cut the plastic, then please for God sake... please don't complain about it, but it makes you look pathetic.  I am not being an ass when I state that, I am being 2,000% sincere.  I have worked at an amusement park (trying my story again, because I really think people don't understand the underlying message...) for 13 hours as grounds crew for a company that could replace you in any second.  There were so many times that I could have complained about the things I had to do there, but who really cares, life goes on.  If you want something badly, you just do it.  Even if it is tough, you just do it.  I am pretty sure that cutting a UGC is simplier than lifting 400+ 50lbs garbage bags a day from 8AM to noon (then work til 10PM).  Again, that's my own analogy.  If you have done harder things in life, congratulations, then you have too also agreed that your personal endeavors were more complicated and tiresome than cutting a ugc to fit NES games.

I have $130 in quarters that have been sitting there for roughly 12 days (pretty much the day after I shipped those packages to Shenske and SonicAdvX) that I have been meaning to run to the bank.  I have (2) $100 bills just sitting there on the floor that I have just noticed.

I am tired of scanning my crap (because I honestly feel like I should sell this stuff just so I don't have to win peoples affections on this website anymore).  First it was the "BOOTLEG ALERT" joke when I first became a member which annoyed me that I had to prove myself to everyone that my crap was mine.  I just have really bad memories on this site.

Honestly, I don't know what else to say.  I am sorry for those who are in need of scans that I have, a few select members ruined it for everyone.  I guess I am the ass thesubcon3 states I am in a majority of your guys's eyes now, however maybe it is not I whom you should be pointing your fingers at.  Or if a few other people would have stepped up the the situation where "yes, it seems a little childish that you are all acting like elementary school students lately" that this whole thing could have been averted.  I understand that many of you might have wanted to say something to back me up, however it all goes back to the 1 Good to 20 Negative comments statistic.  If something needs to be said, I'll state my mind, and my mind has been blown.

I had to fight myself not to "Cool story bro" you, just to make light.

Thank you for any cover that I may have already downloaded and put to good use thanks to your time and effort. Too much of anything can be bad for a person though, so maybe it is a good time to step away from the site for awhile and cool out. Maybe with time you'll want to come back and contribute more to the cause, we're all here because we love video games and enjoy having a nice collection of them. This site is a great resource for anyone with those qualities, and a huge part of that is thanks to contributors such as yourself.

Wish you weren't going.  You did provide a large number of scans and information to the group.

I don't recall personally having a conversation with you (personal messages and whatnot) but its always sad to see someone who has been with a community/group for a while leave.

I wish you the best of luck in sorting out your stuff/life/situation and anything else that might get thrown at you.

Maybe when the dust settles, you know there are those of us who would LOVE to have you back.

Keep in mind YOU DONT NEED TO PLEASE EVERYONE! just yourself.

Craig don't let a few negative comments destroy what you loved doing . You and I know when you're on the internet theres always a few bad apples you have to deal with . Just like going to school and dealing with the bullies .
I'm a newbie here and I think you should stay . Many may not realize it . But you're what this site needs .

Sorry to see you go, buddy! I haven't been on this forum long but you were always the "go-to" guy for RAWS. Do what you need to do, the internet is a ridiculously frustrating place at times.

Thanks for everything and good luck on whatever you want to do!

Maybe we'll see you soon when everything settles down!  :)

hang on a minute everyone.

I too am sorry to see someone who was usually as helpful as craig go - but he wasn't innocent in this.  I stayed quiet until now, but some of his comments have been OTT and unnecessary.  There are always people who get het up, and upset over comments on internet boards about things written by people they will never meet and don't really care about - it happens - you get over it and move on.  Everyone has an opinion, but TCP has never been a venue for open and uneccesary flame wars - and I think in future the admins/gurus (myself included) should do more to stop things going this far.

However - this whole thread now seems to me to be a "look at all the toys i'vew got, and you can't play with them" thread.

So Craig - I know you will read this thread one way or another - if it really was a couple of disagreements over the last few weeks that rattled your cage, then please just reconsider and we can put it all behind us and continue to play happily in the land of TCP.

If it's something else in real life, and this has just manifested itself here - then go have a time out, you know where we are if/when you decide to rejoin.  You will be more than welcome back.

Please however do not log back in looking for sympathy, or to read people begging you to stay, or to post more photo's of the toys you have been throwing from your pram.

I wish you the best whatever you decide.
