Nice work on the covers, Grumbleduke. I only collect Japanese games myself so it's really nice to see someone making efforts to create some Japanese covers as well.

Here's my first submission... the Japanese version of Sonic & Knuckles.
http://www.thecoverproject.net/uploads/Jigsaw.retail.genesis_sonic_knuckles_jp.jpg

It took quite a lot of work, as I went to great lengths to make sure the quality was as high as possible. Many of the elements were edited heavily; others I recreated from scratch. Using all the different icons and logos and stuff I could probably whip up a decent template for custom Japanese MD covers, if there's any interest. If not, I may just make a few myself...

i looked at your cover and i am impressed by how sharp and clean everything is, good job.

...  :( ... then i checked the DPI to ind that it was only 96dpi.  Covers here need to be 300dpi.

Huh?  ??? I know for a fact it was 300dpi when I was working on it, something must have happened when I saved it to JPG. Thanks for the heads-up, I'll take a look at it and resubmit it.

Nice, I'm looking forward to seeing them.

Personally I don't have much interest in making more MD covers -- S&K I want to get a UGC for, as it only came in a cardboard box, but for any other game I'd like to get the complete, original version. I'll definitely want to finish the MD template I mentioned before though, for anyone who might be interested, as well as making a custom cover or two myself...

Your template will be very welcome. :). UGC to MD case and vice-versa are pretty straightforward...mostly cleanups and resize the spine.Only problem i have is getting them flat enough for scanning.I have the insert on the scanner..Lylat wars BIG box next...16 MD cases in two columns on that..and all braced on the bottom of a shelf so tightly that im worried the scanner glass may break under the pressure, and STILL the edges of the spine show up!!!

Hello,

I hope I'm not infiltrating the wrong thread, but I just uploaded 20 new Genesis covers (NTSC-US, 400 dpi).  Some of them might be good enough to be uploaded straight to the genesis section, but I listed them all as raws.  I thought I'd mention it in a thread where people are so amazing at fixing up genesis covers.  I've wanted to thank you all for your hard work for so long, and I hope this can go part of a way towards expressing my gratitude.  Keep up the amazing work!

Great work as usual Grumbleduke. I was wondering, do you have any Japanese Puzzle games? I'm working on the template, and I want to create all those icons for genres and stuff, but I'm still missing a few and I have no scans on hand for them either. The icons I have done are:
1 Player
2 Players
Action Game
Shooting Game
Drive Game
Roleplay Game
Fighting Pad 6B
Memory Back Up

Puzzle is the only one I know exists that I still don't have, but I'm guessing there are a few more. Sports? Simulation? If you - or anyone else for that matter - have scans or is able to scan any covers that have the icons I'm missing, I'd be really grateful. I can't really finish the template without them.

service_gamer: That's great. More scans are always welcome. ;D

You don't happen to have the PAL version of Moonwalker too? I've been looking for a EU cover for this game for ages but never had any luck finding it.... It's a not very common game here in austria....

No,but i will take a look in town later,a couple of shops have Mega Drive titles for very little money so if i see one,i will pick it up and scan it.

@ Jigsaw

OK, ihave the JP version of Klax which is no good at all cos its a Namcot release and has no icons. :(
BUT i have Columns 3 and that does have the icons i beleive.Unfortunatley, its at my Brothers in London so if you can wait a few days and dont find another source, i will bring it home again and scan it.(will do that anyway for the site)
